my point wasnt that it requires one punch knockout power to be an elite fighter, thats just one aspect Tyson possessed that made him in your words a very potent offensive fighter
in the Cotto fight Marg simply outlasted him. I was actually amazed at how Cotto was boxing his ears off... it wasnt until the 8th or 9th round when you started thinking wtf is Marg on? he aint going nowhere and this is Cotto punching him!
Marg did what he's suppose to do and kept fighting, kept coming. The fact is if Cotto had lasted one more round we would have seen him walk away with a SD or MD, but Marg was able to stop him and i give him his just dos for that
Cotto boxing his ears off was taking severe punishment in the process. The second round saw Cotto take some punishment he never, ever felt before. He backed away from it until the 6th round when it all started catching up to him.
Had Cotto went another round, he would have lost on the scorecards.
If Tony didn't have his incredible chin, he'd probably have a different attribute to make up for it, like speed. You can't just take one away without giving another back.

All pretty pointless arguments, really.
With regards to Margarito-Mayweather, the reason I think Mayweather would not beat Margarito is because Margarito has it in him to keep coming all night, relentless pressure and has the height advantage where Mayweather would be short with his counter punches and be forced to extend himself.
Mayweather wouldn't take the fight and I don't blame him; the odds just aren't in his favor.
Exactly

Great point, fools in here love to lean on the verge of racism/prejudice if not be totally racist/prejudice

I have to say that i was amaze at how slow Margarito was in the cotto fight, He made cotto look like Ray leonard in the first 6 rounds, He didnt cut off the ring properly early on until the 6th round upward.
His ability to take most of the landed punches certainly did help in his victory over cotto who was a broken man after landing all his best shots.

His ability to throw punches from all angles is a part of great boxing ability. His superb conditioning is a part of his great boxing ability. His ability to throw more punches than his opponent is a part of his great boxing ability.
Sometimes people make it seem that Tony is just some caveman with a club.
Margarito outclassed Cotto for the last half of the fight and made Miguel look like an absolute fool.
I woulnt say he outclassed Cotto, i'd say he outlasted him.... regardless tho Tony fought a helluva fight and deserves all the props in the world.... but that wasnt the point of this thread

When I think of outclass, I think of whos winning the fight.
He landed better punches, inflicted more damage and made the man quit by not taking a punch.
Outclassed.
