joe calzaghe has been fighting through his hand issues for a long time, he stayed undefeated and he's a good 4 years older than mayweather.
and floyd's undefeated record doesnt really mean a lot when joe's got one too.
floyd will be back if he takes his legacy seriously. and if he doesnt- its because he hates this sport and wants to hurt it

Hands don't get better when you are a fighter.
Look at Gatti and Pauli M: they injured their hands in just about every fight once there hands reached the breaking point. I've even heard Floyd injured his hands against Oscar but didn't make it a big deal because that is boxing.
Injuried Hands = Problems in training and then problems in Fighting.
If you are going to face certain fighters, you need to throw and it's obvious Floyd can't throw as much anymore and that means he is not at his best.
OH, and you don't know the difference between Excuses and Reasons.
Excuse is when you lie about something
And Football players have a similar mentality. Barry Sanders, as well as many other football players, RBs especially, tend to retire early because they don't want to suffer long term damage.
If Floyd can't throw, the opponent has the upper hand.
How are you going to stop a guy like Margarito who punches non-stop and is aggressive if you have brittle hands?
One punch to Margarito's head and you can kiss your hands good-bye.
Reason: an actual problem
For degrading his competition: This, I agree with you and I posted my disapproval.
Oh, and just because I stick up for a fighter in a particular discussion and you don't like him doesn't mean I love the guy. If I was a die-hard fan I wouldn't rip him in anyway.
You proved to be the same as certain posters; what a shame.
So answer this: If Pac retires after two more fights, is he a *****?
Floyd and Pac retiring are two separate things. Pac isn't leaving unanswered questions, ridiculing any potential opponents or calling himself the best fighter there ever was all while refusing to fight the best competition.
Pac is doing what great fighters do.
Talking with his fists.
Spare the hand excuses, their old already.
Floyd has brittle hands, big deal. Lots of fighters do.

Joe kept fighting because he had a small legacy and a small bank account compared to what he was going to get.
It's like Lennox: Lennox was Champ but he had to stay longer to get that recognition he deserved as well as to finish off Tyson because people kept nagging him about it. If Lennox had gotten his chance at Bowe and defeated him and had been considered "THE CHAMP," I wonder how long he would have stayed.
Was the last line a joke or are you serious?
Tired of the sport is more likely; burnt out from being a Mayweather.
Floyd had been fighting since he was a kid. He even admitted he didn't love the sport and was forced to stay in it by his Dad. He may have learned to love it but after a while, being Champ, having lots of Money and Fame...and bad hands...plus the hate, can get to you. Some of that hate may have been deserved, but it was becacuse he was hated that ended up getting him paid.
Boxing doesn't love the fighters: Boxing uses chews them up and spits them out.
All fighters are **********s and all promoters are pimps- Larry Holmes.
Floyd walked away from Huge paydays by the way. Most fighters would have stuck around and continued to spread their legs; Floyd didn't. He was the stripper that actually quit with money in the pocket and opened up a hair-salon or went back to school to become a nurse.
There was a good topic on ***ish fighters and it's said many would fight in their 20's, make their money, keep their brain intact, and get out to go to college and/or open up a business. It was this type of smarts that led them out of boxing for the most part. Life is more than just boxing.

Having injured hands isn't an excuse. You make your living with your hands. If a painter doesn't have hands, how is he supposed to paint?
If an NFL RB doesn't have knees, how is he supposed to run?
It's a Reason, not an excuse.
Pac would be still retiring young and he just avoided the best at 147. If he didn't want to fight the Welterweights, he shouldn't have moved up. Fair is fair. Pac moved up that high to get to the same person Floyd did: O$car. Neither had intention of fighting the best at 147.
However, I have always agreed that Floyd's legacy at 147 isn't much and that he shouldn't have opened his mouth on many things like being the best of All Time and being the best at 147.
But the point is retiring: He has the right to retire. He may not go down as the best like he wants, but he has the right to retire.
Plus, some of you people take things way to seriously.
I would say at least 90% of people on the street never heard of Sugar Ray Robinson and he is regarded as the best P4P fighter ever.
In the end, we will all be forgotten.

For example; he is my question to you: Why did Pac get KTFO twice?
How come he lost to a faded Morales?
