Granted, I wasn't trying to say that a Floyd/Pac fight won't happen, just the fact that I don't agree with boxer's retiring and then just coming back when they feel like it and fighting whoever, whenever they like. I'm not for it happening like that, it would be like Lennox coming out and declaring to world he wants to fight Vitali. Of course he's been retired longer than Floyd , but you shouldn't still be able to call yourself into a big fight just because you were recognised, previously as the best, this is what I trying to say so sorry if it didn't come out like that, but if you read my post after that:
I too think that Pac will choose a fight with Floyd over Hatton a million times over, because it make's more sense to him money wise. Pacquiao's a great guy, very humble and a credit to the sport because of his no fear attitude. Unfortunatly because of the money a fight with Mayweather will bring Hatton just won't get a look in. Like many I wanna see Pac/Floyd battle it out for p4p supremacy equally I'd like to see Pac/Hatton because of like you like the fireworks it will bring.

Nothing will be signed with Hatton until Pac's team know that there is absolutley zero percent chance of a fight with Mayweather, and until a statement from Team Mayweather say's this then unfortunatley Bob Arum's eyes are fixed on making a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight regardless of what he say's about talks with the Hatton camp.

Just to clarify myself, I get what you're saying and actually agree how active fighters who put the work in should get priority over retired fighters making a comeback, that's why I said it's only fair. So I think Ricky shouldn't end up being pushed aside just to give way to Floyd, but we both know how things work in reality. Money always takes precedence over principle.

Pesonally, I'd like to see a Pac-Hatton before Pac-Floyd and that obviously means I favor Manny's chances over Ricky.

margarito vs cotto was a competitive fight...

I say it was very competitive until the 5/6th round. If the ref had allowed Hatton to work even a little bit on the inside, the fight might have been allot closer with it going to the cards.

Cotto got brutalized from the 6th round on and could do nothing to hurt Margarito.

Here is the difference......Margarito has been fighting the best at 147. He had lost tp Paul Williams 2 fights earlier, couldn't secure a rematch and took Cintrons challenge to grab back a title to use as a negotiationg chip. Had Cintron not had that IBF strap, I could see your point.

Floyd on the other hand is strictly money. He beat Hatton in a one sided fight. He doesn't need Hattons title at 140 as a negotiating chip, and there is little doubt he would ever defend it against the best available challengers.

Definetly a big difference in my opinion.

mayweather doesn't have to "try" to break up the fight with hatton and pacman. the sad part is that no matter how much you ppl hate him, all he has to do is come out and say "I want manny" or "I want ricky," and he gets EITHER fighter, BEFORE the other guy does. b.s.
