DLH is shot, plain and simple, he looked like a shot fighter, I don't think he threw the fight at all, he took a lot of punishment in there.

      Wasted money!

I'm not a fan of de la hoya but if you think this fight wasn't set up you must be blind. First HBO starts talks about this fight about a year ago to make so that people will start talking about it. Then they keep talking about it so that people will will be more willing to accept that it might be a good idea to have this fight. Then of course the fight is signed and most experts are disgusted because of this circus show event. Then all this promotion like nothing we have ever seen happens.
Even people like manny steward who are always realistic and never hesitates to criticize this type of thing is all into the fight saying that manny has a great chance. Everyone but us was in on this. HBO and oscar set this up as a passing of the torch to pacman so that he could carry boxing foward. De la hoya didn't even try to throw punches or block them. How can mayweather get picked off most of his fight with de la hoya but pac lands every punch he throws???
Then to top it off around round 5 he sits in his stool looking like he's ready to collapse. De la hoya could've atleast tried to make it look like he was trying. There were a few moments were he got too excited and started t fight back and then backed off again to make sure he didn't **** his acting job.
Manny is a great fighter and i respect him so much but it's things like this that make me not want to watch boxing. It's worst than when judges screw fighters. This is the fighters screwing the fans. We all knew that boxing was screwed when de la hoya was gone and thats why HBO and de la hoya decided that this would be the best way to keep the money going in this sport. We've all been had...

WOW!!!! It is a given that all those know more than thou people who have a hard time getting off their high pedistal of foundationless pride are going to make exuses. Why would DLH get his face pulverized and humiliate himself like that... Going down on a body shot woulda been more credile that DLH quitting on his stool... Pacquiao OWNED De La Hoya... Messed his face up... Pacquiao's major advantage was his faith.. Call it devine intervention but all those who think Oscar threw this fight that are fronting that they know everything and just ate crow, are looking more and more like ignoramuses the more they come with their explanations of conspiracy... Just humble yourselves and admit you were wrong and maybe we will listen to your omniscient analysis.

so what if I was a detractor of this fight? what does that got to do with my opinion?

I also said that the only way this fight would be worth my money is if pacquiao wins by ko/tko and he did but that doesn't take away from the fact that oscar wasn't oscar in this fight. I don't understand why oscar wasn't fighting back or wasn't even upset at himself for not being able to be in this fight and I am especially mind boggled as to dlh quiting on his stool knowing full well that there are millions of ppl watching this fight and the least he could have done was to continue fighting and let the doctors stop the fight if they wanted to.

DLH had money on this fight and I'm sure of it.

you f_ck_ers should be ashamed of yourself, you guys are killing boxing...

why would Oscar throw the fight?? he has everything to loose and nothing to gain...

dont tell me money, he can make A LOT MORE EASY MONEY if he won the fight and fought hatton next...

and their is OSCAR'S LEGACY, NO ONE WOULD WANT TO END HIS CAREER THAT WAY, SPECIALLY AGAINST A MUCH SMALLER GUY THAT EVERYONE EXPECT YOU WILL KTFO AND CALL IT A MISMATCH!!

              Reasons why this wasn't rigged:
              1. DLH wanted to fight Hatton in 2009, he's been talking about wanting to fight Hatton for years and it was finally becoming a reality. Clearly that's over with now. That fight would have been a megafight just as big as this one.

              2. DLH was totally humiliated in the worst way imagineable. A true 'passing of the torch' would have been DLH losing a decision with barely any marks on his face. The complete opposite happened, his eyes were swollen shut, and even his team had to admit that fighting on wouldn't be smart because Pacquiao is just too quick for him to defend himself.

              3. The look of shock on DLH's face in the first round should be enough proof that this wasn't rigged. He clearly didn't expect that much lateral movement and that much speed from Pacquiao.

great post. you said it man. only the hardcore pac fans are gonna dispute the fishyness of this fight. dlh might have looked at this as something he was doing for the sake of boxing because there wasn't anyone else to draw as much buzz for boxing as he did so he had to kinda pass the torch. Whatever the real reason is I don't know, but I do know that Oscar threw this fight.

tsk tsk Give Credit where it is due ...

Oscar was being pummeled at the corner for two rounds, if he went out the nine he would surely fall and IMHO he did not want any of that...

You guys are stucked with Oscar's image of old, Roach called it perfectly that Dela Hoya could not pull the trigger anymore, not to mention at 147 he did not have any legs anymore ...

I agree. Something about it was FISHY. I did not see Oscar step in with his jab once. It was like he didnt even TRY. I really thought he was pulling his punches in the beginning.
