If you knew anything about Miguel Cotto you'd know his team picks his fights, he doesn't even offer an opinion regarding opponents he just fights whoever they put on the opposite side of the ring. Jennings happens to be the only available fight for Miguel at the moment and HIS TEAM made the fight

you start off by bashing Arum for bad matchmaking and somehow end up blaming it on Cotto, acting like it isn't known that Cotto doesn't do what your lover does and hand picks fights, it's so true in fact he doesn't even take part in negotiations all he does is train and fights..

you grew so used to fighters, like Floyd, having 100% control over who they fight that to you it's like "why did Cotto take this fight?", well guess what dumb ass Cotto DIDN'T take the fight his team did. he's going to fight the fight rest assure but his team picked it. don't worry Cotto isn't Floyd, he wont hand pick lesser opponents at will knowing there's stronger and better challenges out there.. I even heard he wanted to make the Margarito fight sooner and couldn't.

also you act like these fights are "get ready" fights. let me tell you how much you don't know Boxing, a get ready fight is what De La Hoya-Forbes was, it's a fight against someone who can prepare you style wise for the man to come. Forbes was a slick fighter like Mayweather whom didn't have as much skills and power, he was put there to help De La Hoya get ready for Floyd again by fighting someone with similar feats in style. he was hand picked for that. what do Jennings and Margarito have in common? what do Mosley and Cotto have in common? nothing, these fights are simply what is next for these 2 guys.

Margarito was eventually going to have to face Shane Mosley and now is the time, time called for right now. as for Cotto it was Jennings who seemed like the best bet, it's for a vacant title so it makes sense and Jennings doesn't seem like a slouch, he only has 1 loss. Wladimir Klitschko has fallen to lesser men it's just part of the game and every fight can be won or lost, the only thing that sways up and down is the chances one has to beat the other and as of now I never saw Jennings fight so I don't know what he's capable of, either way it's no different than Joshua Clottey facing Zab Judah for the vacant IBF title, I don't see you downgrading HIM to Vargas status. truth is you a hater, plain truth..

if Arum was truly trying to **** over Margarito he wouldn't have given him any say over his purse and would have made him fight Mosley, no instead he was willing to let such a big event for Top Rank go down the drain because his fighter spoke his mind and was against it. he then goes and gets his man a better deal by sticking to his guns and waiting for HBO to step to the plate. 1. Top Rank didn't force Margarito to fight Paul Williams the first time. Margarito chose to fight Paul Williams instead of Cotto, because P.Will was his mandatory and he didn't want to be stripped of the belt. Margo had the option of fighting Cotto, but chose to wait.

2. Margarito fights Cintron before fighting Cotto. You guys realized Margarito had already destroyed Cintron before right? There was no risk in this fight for him. This isn't any different than Cotto fighting Gomez. Gomez at least had more name recognition than Cintron, which is why Cotto is earning $3mil. He's fought more fighters that fans know about.

3. Margarito fighting Mosley before Cotto. He's getting one of his best pay days and should he lose it still won't affect another fight with Cotto in the summer. So it's a win win situation for Margarito. Cotto on the other hand, has to get a winnable fight because another loss will cost him the rematch.

The Jennings fight is an excellent fight for Miguel Cotto after coming off a knockout loss. He gets $3mil, a chance for a title, and low risk. Hating on this when you guys know he's got a tough fight coming up should he win, is insane.
