This is old ****en news. And there is a differnce between Margarito and Delahoya. Delahoya lived the Mexican-American life. Margarito left as a small child and lived the Mexican life. Both new spanish, the other knew 2 languages. Both lived power, but the government helped the poor Delahoyas, where as the Margarito's had to feed themselves. They both lived two differnt' life styles. Margarito lived the life of a Mexican, while Delahoya lived the life as a 1st generation Chicano having way more oppertunitites then Margarito had as a child. Who more Mexican the man that lived their as a child Margarito. So stop this bull****.

Just like I was born here in the U.S. but that doesnt make me any less italian than anyone else.

infact if you think about it EVERYONE (with the exception of native americans) are immigrants here in the U.S.

The arguement people make about this is idiotic...

margarito and oscar are technically BOTH mexican-americans.

            end of story.

Everybody is really immigrants when you look at it. Even if you say you are "Italian," how "Italian" are you?

Let me explain: When did your family arrive in Italy?

Say they go way back to the Roman days. Well, Rome was the USA of it's day so your family might have come from anywhere in the world; maybe even brought in through slavery.

I'm American, although I consider myself a Citizen of the World

And Who's Fault Is That?? Nobody Told His Ignorant Ass To Go To Mexico Instead Of Staying In His Native Usa And Taking Advantage Of What This Great Country Has To Offer I Was Born In Monterrey N.l And I Learned English And Have A College Degree, So Does This Make Me Less Mexican Just Because I Learned English And Went To College, Margarito Was Not Even Born In Mexico. So Is He More Mexican Than Me?

Poverty doesn't discriminate, and it's not defined exclusively by one single race, it goes across the board. De La Hoya not living in Mexico and having "more opportunities" for living in U.S.A, doesn't make him any less Mexican than Margarito, that's just ******ed to say. All immigrants come to America for a better life, those who choose to stay never loose their heritage and still work hard to earn their keep.

Those who scoff at one of their own for living well and having a very different attitude than their own are drinking too much hatorade! don't hate, congratulate. It's this narrow minded and clanish attitude that belittles Mexicans in the eyes of many, we're better than this ****. This stigma that unless you're always angry and talking **** about anything that's American influenced then you're not Mexican is incredibly ignorant and laughable. Vargas was very good at perpetuating that image of the angry Chicano, he was a supreme idiot and made Mexicans look like dolts.

The point is, you can't be mad at someone because you can't relate to their success, and when it comes to the point where you're going to question their heritage because of it, then you've become a bonafide hater.

On a side note....I bet most of the people talking trash about Hoya's heritage on these forums are young dummies who were born in the states, living in the states and wouldn't have it any other way. So stop the hypocrisy please, you should be better than that.
