Mosley lost 2/3 of the junior middleweight title and millions after refusing Oscar De La Hoya's offer of $12 million for the rubber match. He reportedly earned just $5 million for BOTH Wright fights.

Originally posted by ferocity View PostSo you're saying because Mosley refused to accept 12 million, and instead fought for 5 mil in two Winky fights, he(mosley) didn't turn down the 12 million and i'am wrong? If thats the case then you most not have been keeping up with boxing back then. Or even when Delahoya offered just as much or more for a rematch against Trinidad but Trinidad as Mosley wanted an even split.
Mosley had passed up perhaps $12 million to fight De La Hoya again in exchange for maybe $3.1 million to show the world he was the best 154-pound fighter. He showed instead that Wright deserved the title, and he blew a $10 million payday against Trinidad. ''This is what the boxing world needs: guys who want to see who's best,'' Mosley said.Last edited by Silencers; 11-20-2008, 12:45 AM.

I know he turned down a rematch offer with DLH for the split but that was before the second fight.

Originally posted by ferocity View PostWell i remember it was because he wanted a 50/50 split. And your quote says he turned down 12.5 against Delahoya, and yets he wants to offer Margarito peanuts. Its clear to me and a few others that Mosley was never serious of fighting Margarito. Mosley was going to get ko'd anyways so his fans should be happy.

As for the Mosley thing. I meant that Mosley was being a prick when 12.5 is much more then he's ever made and its far from 1 or 2 or even 4 mil dollars that 12.5 gurrentee. Mosley should have fought Delahoya because regardless that its not a 50/50 split, its a lot of money.
And the money they are offereing Margarito isn't even comparable to what Dealhoya offered Mosley for a 3rd fight.
