Calzaghe knocked Lacy down and hurt him, his face was mashed.

These are just in the past couple of years.

These are with the weak broken hands of Calzaghe's.

WESS, I don't know how many times one can say this.

Please watch in full, experience, accept and realise what's going in matters and fights, before you speak of said matters. I like you, and at times it's embarrassing mate.
Joe Calzaghe does NOT present the "ONE PUNCH POWER" to scare Roy in being PUNCH SHY. That was my point............................................. ............

What you said has nothing to do with my point and you have said it already.

Again my point is clearly stating that JOE CALZAGHE'S PUNCHING "POWER" WILL NOT I REPEAT (JUST IN CASE YOU MISSED IT THE FIRST TIME) WILL NOT SCARE ROY INTO BEING PUNCH SHY.

That was the point.... I know he is "not known for punching power" duhhhhhhhhh

I'm not saying Joe dose not have any power at all either. I'm saying Joe will NOT, I repeat (in case you missed it the second time) WILL NOT present the kind of "POWER" to cause Roy to be PUNCH shy as he was with Tarver on his LAST fight that he lost on points too. (which by the way was his ONLY defeat on POINTS... which is the way Joe Calzaghe intends on beating Roy)...... catching on???????????????

That was my point. I have NO earthly idea what you are talking about........

Please read the conversation before being Calzaghe's left hand man in speaking for him.....

The whole point was over Joe Calzaghe having no kind of POWER to cause Roy to be punch shy and presents nothing that will have him the way Tarver did mentally and physically. (just repeated this to remind you of the point of my post twice again)

Joe has not done anything since the LACY fight and even THEN lacy was BEAT badly because of the amount of punches he took. Roy is NO Lacy so you cant compare him to that at all. Silly you would even bring that up..... Thats almost like me saying "o yeah Roy was a Heavyweight and beat RUIZ" lol makes no sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol. Roy is also no Kessler, so no comparing there either lol.

I will ALSO add that Joe fought Lacy how many years ago? The Kessler fight wasnt yesturday either.

Joe is looking for a 12 round win on points as he has done for awhile now. HOW??????? His work rate. Why??? because his hands. WHY??? because he cant punch anymore. Why? because he will injure them more.

So what does he do....."Patty cake" "pitty pat" ***** punches in bunches. To what????? WIN on points.

You dont think Roy Jones Jr the fighter thats been in the game longer dosnt know that? Roy is expecting just that. As he has stated; Joe will start punching Friday night and wont stop until sometime sunday evening..............

I will also say "TWICE" again ROY JONES JR has only lost once on Points and that was to the guy that had him mentally and physically scared to throw a punch. WHY??????? BECAUSE HE KNOCKED HIM THE **** OUT WITH ONE PUNCH WHEN THEY LAST FOUGHT.

Joe Calzaghe has not knocked anyone out in HOW LONG? Joe Calzaghe hasnt even knoced anyone down in how long????????? Joe Calzaghe hasnt really hurt anyone in how long??????????
So according to history, Joe will NOT present Roy Jons Jr with no one punch power that will have him scared and punch shy......

also waaaaaaaay of subject. I just watched "MY BEST FRIENDS GIRL" dude funniest movie in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.... Done Cook had me rolling....... funny as hell I recommend it to EVERYONE.... Don't forget to take the GIRLFRIENDS..... Its a PERFECT date movie... TRUST ME!!!!!!

Ok, that was quite long winded, but I can talk I do it myself. You asked when did Calzaghe last have someone hurt, the answer is as recent as the fight before his last. He had Kessler hurt with one punch, and had Kessler had not been given 10 seconds, it may have become a TKO or KO. May sound radical but watch those moments, I'm pretty sure it was round 9. Kessler admitted he was hurt, so Calzaghe does sit and land hard, on the odd punch or two, in the rare scenario he has the confidence in his fight, the right angle, and risk factor.

Calzaghe granted however, is never generally known as a power puncher. I give Roy a better shot at Calzaghe than many Joe fans with respect. If Joe has such little power, surely it's a major plus for all his opponents with tougher chins, like Lacy, Kessler, and Hopkins. Yet we know what happened to them, Lacy got his face messed up, Kessler got hurt and was the most gun shy at points due to Calzaghes occasional power, positioning, and Hopkins spent the night running and not meeting Joe and fighting.

So then we have to believe, that Roy on the other hand, someone renown has having a fairly weak chin, will be different and it's a massive plus for him. Calzaghe's the same, and Roy's still got a weaker chin than those guys, and is still more likely to get hurt than the prior opponents of Joe mentioned.

That for me isn't a great plus for Roy. Also, Calzaghe is more powerful at LHW and just couldn't really use it against Hops as he was running and just trying to land anything to win. He's coming to the end of his career and he may be less cautious of his hands later on in a fight now.

That was winded indeed. lol I was pre-gaming while writing that...

But yeah I agree. What you say is pretty accurate kind of in the what if scenario. But I really don't count Roy's chin as a negative on this fight. If it was against anyone else. Like literally anyone else I would factor it in on the fight. I'm not saying I totally count it out because this is boxing but I count Roy's chin as being weak in this fight as I do Joe's. Not saying Roy's chin is all better now, I'm just saying Joe's punches will come in hundreds and not a one big power shot that has had Roy shy in the past. Anyway like I said in the last long and "repetitive" (lol) post.

I see what your saying I just don't see Joe who hasn't knocked anyone down or out in a long time. You can say he hurt Lacy (mentally) and one can say he "could have" had a TKO or KO win over Kessler if the ref didn't stop the fight as he did.... So like I was saying if history repeats itself Joe is going down the "work rate" road to win via on points as he has done since becoming famous worldwide.

I'm kind of bummed that there only having 3 episodes of the HBO 24/7 show. I don't really want to hear Joe and Enzo talk as much but it would be interesting if they just trained and walked around town and gace Americans and who ever else a good persepctive on him. I know Roy will be entertaining.... lol I think everyone knows that.... o well.

Who do you have for Hop VS Pav? No need to explain, for this is not the thread but I was wondering who you are going for.

Roy will box this fight the same way he has always boxed, cautiously. Calzaghe is a pro boxer and you don't want to be getting hit by him unneccessarily.

Wess, your entire assessment of Roy's chances relies basically on him suddenly ceasing to be the boxer he is and turning back the clock to do what he hasn't in years. This is a weak assessment based on wishful thinking.

Dude, I'm just saying his chin is not a factor in this fight. I'm not saying he will have such energy to fight and "turn back the clock". I'm talking about him being gun shy due to the "one punch" power shot that TARVER hit him with. Joe Calzaghe "is not known" for that kind of power.

I'm talking about the "ONE" and only fight that he has LOST on points too.... Which was to the guy (Tarver) that had him knocked out in less than 2 rounds. When they fought for the 3rd time he was "PUNCH SHY" mentally scared and overly cautious in result losing on points for the VERY first time in his entire career.

As you and MANY others have said (and the fact is) Joe Calzaghe is NOT known for this one punch power. My point was to have Roy PUNCH SHY you need to present this ONE PUNCH POWER.... or else you have a confident Roy, Not a Roy of the 90's but a smart 39 year old who knows Joe has not ko'ed anyone in a very long time due to glass hands and is looking for a 12 round win via points. I'm not saying Roy will be superman, I'm just saying Roy will fight back and not have a fear of a KO in the back of his mind as he did with Tarver 3. (His first L on points)

Thats all dude. I'm just saying you will see a "confident" Roy. Not the scared Roy.
Which alot of people on here are used to because they know nothing of him or have ever watched his fights prior to being KO'ed....

Maybe, I suppose Roy hasn't got much to lose, but I always say that your on shaky ground when you start assessing a fight based on your psychological profile of a fighter. People were doing the same before Calz v Hopkins.

Well that was a totally different kind of fight. lol Hopkins almost did it in my eyes, and when I say almost did it I mean just totally stop them from boxing all together. Anyway not going there. Its fair and correct to say Joe won that fight..... (shaking from the memories of boredom from round 2 and on)

I'm just saying this is a great match up. Joe and Roy say there styles are great because they both will fight. Roy knows exactly what to expect from Joe, and same goes for Joe. BUT I think in a small maybe VERY small way Joe is underestimating Roy because of the KO loses and him being gun shy and etc etc.

But IMO we will see a Roy that will punch and yes be cautious because that has been his style for a long time. But he will not be OVERLY cautious and that's what resulted in him losing his first and only "L" on points, and points is the route Joe will be looking for to get the "W". So IMO that makes in for an awesomely violent chess match.

The only thing I'll address in the earlier part of this, is the reference to Calzaghes lack of power or not hurting guys in the past. Your insistence and response frustrates me, because you can't get away from these facts which largely take apart your more personal view not so reflective of the facts. "When did Calzaghe last hurt someone or knock them down".

I've answered that. As a matter of fact Calzaghe knocked down Lacy, did hurt him and many even commentators thought he was taking such a beating it should have been stopped, result TKO. Kessler factually was hurt, his eye closed up and he admitted being hurt by ONE of Calzaghes shots in particular, that could have gone on to be a TKO.

Roys weak chin won't be a factor in this fight?

Wrong. Why. Because a weak chin is a factor in every fight.

If Calzaghe can hurt stronger, tougher chinned guys like Lacy and Kessler, how is Roy somehow any less likely to be hurt just the same? He's not.

I've gone on to explain, that Calzaghe will hit harder at LHW, couldn't against a running Hops, and may be less cautious with his hands, i.e sit on a few more.

                      Anyway, lets leave that.

I see Bernard troubling and confusing Pavlik quite a bit. He'll be ducking and weaving, hopefully manoeuvring cleverly away from straight punches to counter. Pavlik will be expecting this however, so if he's clever he'll be practising things that address this in sparring. I think Pavlik may be cautious early on with Nard taking many of the early rounds. Pavlik will begin to find partially effective ways to deal with Bernards super defence and countering around round 5. He'll get slightly frustrated around this time however, and may swing some very hard shots. Whether one lands or whether he get's countered in some of these will be crucial to the outcome. I've got Pavlik by UD, but I would not be at all surprised by Hopkins stealing it. Pavlik won't look great and could be schooled just enough to be robbed.

Interestingly, Pavlik said "It's highly unlikely Joe will get past Roy Jones Jnr".
