Someone said Roy is Irrelevant..... How so? What do you expect from a guy that LOST 3 times in a row (2 by way of KO) to do? You think he can just STEP in the ring with ANYONE and make himself relevant? No he had to fight nobodies to redeem himself and EARN a shot at fighting again and that is exactly what he is doing now. best fight for the biggest pay day out of any fight of today. Pretty smart if you ask me......... no damned smart!!!

Joe is expecting an easy fight by a "washed" up BIG NAME fighter who will "tire" half way while Joe can use his "workrate" to carry him to a win like he has been doing for so many years now. Well I think Joe is in for a treat...
Oh WESS. Roys real negative feelings on Joe will come out? What has Roy said on Calzaghe that is significantly negative especially in recent years, can you quote anything?

Joe hasn't really claimed to call out Roy, he's maybe mentioned a willingness to fight him once or twice, the same is true vice versa. So there's no lie there on either side. Calzaghe also did offer Pavlik a fight, infact 2, so there's no lie there. Why do you say these things when it's beyond subjective opinion, but pretty much patently lacking credit, borderline damn right false. You gotta stop it dude seriously, think about what your saying.

lol Remember where I live? I see Roy and I talk to him when ever I run into him. I will stick with my thought on Joe being a hypocrite because he is. Simple as that. Why would someone OFFER a fight back in 2006 when PAV was a nobody and NOT a champ just a contender YET NOW that he is a champion he is not worthy? Come on man get the blinders off.....

Anyway back to ROY..... Roy DOES NOT like Joe, I wont say HATE but dislikes. FACT..... He respects him being undefeated and he respects the fact that Joe has followed his career. BUT I assure you Roy is putting on a MR. NICE GUY show for you UK fans. Anyway its all mind games and promoting. I'm watching Satanta Sports and they were complimenting Jones on how he presents himself... unlike Hopkins. Its all show, dont get cought up in it.... also Joe is not being so nice to Roy so it will all come out as the fight gets closer....

Dude I'm tired as much as you are with all of it but fact is Joe talks **** and some people believe it when it is Clearly horse ****. But like I said maybe its all for promotion.... who knows.

Anyway I feel ya and I dont mean disrespect..... How you doin anway?

That's pretty cool that you see Roy around, sounds like he has a lot of time for people. Joe can be a hypocrite at times sure, but who can't these days in boxing? There's so many scenarios and politics going on it's almost impossible for people not to draw such opinions without stepping back and realising, it's rife and your only seeing it in whom you choose to.

What I was challenging quite reasonably WESS was your assertion Calzaghe is lying about offering Pavlik a fight. It's at this point I think your just being cynical and not really thinking things through fairly and objectively. Especially because your logic is, why would Joe offer him a fight when he was less proven, and say he's not proven enough now. This is largely because for once Joe has the aces and can pick and choose the big name fights, which for awhile he's deserved and been losing motivation not getting them. He fought Manfredo because no one else was around and wanted to build his name beating some yanks, same goes for Kelly.

Even at worst, you could say Calzaghe offered him a fight when he was less proven because he was more likely to win then, i.e a bit wimpish. But you can't present an opinion of why would someone do this and not what I or someone else would do, and then present it as fact that as they didn't there definitely lying. That's ridiculous. Whatever you may think, Calzaghe offered Pavlik 2 fights and Pavlik turned them down. This has not been denied by Pavlik or his team so it's clearly not false as you like to claim for some reason. This is meant with the greatest respect also, but it just leaves one thinking your not assessing or accepting simple widely accepted things, in favour of being cynical.

Actually, Pavlik has vehemently denied that he was EVER given an offer.

LOL, has he, not seen many vids or pieces from him saying as much which is odd, surely he'd want the masses to know?

To be honest it's not surprising, I don't really think he has much input with his team. In the press conference after beating Lockett he mentioned some guys as whom he thought might be next but not Joe. Arum said I've been in talks with Warren over fighting Calzaghe and it can be made, it's likely for September. Pavlik watching over clearly had no idea of such thing, and just said "sweet". He knows sweet FA about what's going with his career or opponents.

Only recently has he began to talk about opponents he wants, and I'm afraid it's all to soon and he's just realising the situation and money opportunities. Calzaghes on his last legs, he missed Joe whomevers fault it was turning it down it wasn't team Calzaghes. Kelly has a long list of opponents, Hopkins and more logical fights after like Abraham and Kessler, I'm pretty confident if he faced all of them 2/3 Joes beaten and would beat AA, that Kelly would come away with at least one loss. What does that say.

Jones is only in this fight because of his name, his career over the past few years hasn't been relevant at all. What has he done lately? Calzaghe is taking this fight for 2 reasons #1 he's always called out Jones and now he's got him, and #2 to Cal beating a name fighter past his best is better than beating a good contender, also some critics could add a 3rd and say Cal is taking an easy fight for big money. Either way RJJ is no longer relevant.
I agree with this. Also think Jones won't do better than Hoppkins. Btw they gt Jones' age wrong:
                      boxer: Roy Jones Jr

                      Global ID 1758
                      suspensions report
                      *** male
                      birth date 1969-01-16
                      age 39

Jones will actually be 40 in January, not 39.
