I guess he thought that Pac only had one previous fight at 122 and was a former flyweight champ and felt he was stronger. He was wrong. When he fought his fight, the fight that brought him to the belts, he had success.

I know. Maybe they just get impatient with that style and want to look more impressive or fight in a crowd pleasing manner. I know a lot of casual fans don't appreciate someone who can put on a boxing clinic, but me personally, I think watching someone systematically break an opponent down is amazing.

Being more aggressive would negate what makes Marquez a great fighter, he'd be just another 30+ fighter open to the attacks of younger foes.
Agreed. I remember in that first fight he landed a good shot and then tried for some more and Pac made him pay. And we all know how that first round turned out. Then after a round or two he went to his usual style and boxed the pants off of Pac.

Your right to, his style works great for his age and the reason why he hasn't faded while he's gotten older.

Yep. Most who sit and trade with Pac can't match his handspeed and power. It seems anybody that tries ends up on their ass pretty quick.

You would like him to, yes, that'd make for more exciting fights. That doesn't mean he'd be more successful.

In the first round Marquez was doing some leading, throwing double jabs and mixing in the right hand leads. Marquez is a counter-puncher, counter-punchers don't lead. He was being aggressive by throwing shots and got caught.

JMM knows when to go all out and when to be defensive. He's a smart fighter.

He should stop being defensive and be a warrior! Plain and basic common sense!!!

He needs to be a more aggressive boxer. Doesnt mean walk forward and trade shots, but a lot of times he just sits back and waits to counter. I think he's good enough to set up scoring shots with his boxing by initiating the action, not just waiting counter.

He doesn't have head movement, if he was more aggressive he'd get stopped sooner or later.

Marquez would have been more dangerous if had he stop whining. He would have gotten the rematch much earlier and we could have probably been having a 2nd rematch just about this time if he havent been ****** enough to bungle the purse issue.
