You are NOT defending your body when you are throwing 120 punches in 180 seconds. While coming forward. Cotto was on his bicycle. And when he stood to exchange, he was strictly headhunting.

All of a sudden, Tony Margarito is Winky Wright? Get that **** outta here.

Tony was using offense as his defense. Cotto didn't invest in the body because there was stiff stuff coming back at him upstairs.
Stiff stuff that would miss 4 out of 5 shots

How about all the other guys who took bad beatings or were badly outclassed and did NOT make it back? In fact, i have more examples of guys who did NOT make it back than guys who did.
So why doesn't Williams call out Cotto and show the world that he can beat him more impressively than Margarito did? It would be better than fighting another bum...

Margarito threw 1000 punches in 10 and a half rounds. Stop yourself before you say he was defending his body.

          Really. Stop yourself.

I dont think Cotto would take that fight after a loss to Margarito. he needs to beat up a couple bums to get his confidence back.

I think he would have taken it IF he wouldve beat Margarito.

              Because that would be idiotic.

Absolutely. TM was missing 3 out of 4 shots.

Again I'll say, there is nothing worst then taking that kind of beating...knowing that your power had no effect on the opponent. Margarito wasn't affected by Cotto's power at all. Cotto was never that good defensively as everyone was making him out to be and neither was he that good of a boxer...a good boxer has the ability to fight with his back against the ropes and jab while he moves. Moving at every corner of the ring without throwing a punch for your own survival isn't boxing. I ****ing laughed when Cotto's boxing skills were being compared to Mayweather's boxing skills.

He had no choice agin Margarito. He isn't sharp enough to fight a smart up-close fight agin a threat like that.

Tony's pressure made it so Cotto had to land shots to feel like he was having any kind of effect on Margarito. The open target up top was the most inviting and left Cotto less vulnerable than if he was trying to find the body. That's the main reasons I see that he didn't target it more. I think Cotto wasn't as composed as he needed to be to execute a precise, premeditated body attack.

Your a decent poster but you have never been in the ring.

Its harder than you think kid. We see a totally different perspective than the fighter itself.

Until you see yourself on camera can you really notice what mistakes you made that the other fighter mightve capitalized on.

And for the record YES early on Margarito was very cautious about leaving the body exposed too much or Cotto wouldve taken the oppourtunities.

Margarito only threw uppercuts and straight punches early on then later after ****ing with cotto started easing into wide body hooks once in a blue moon only mainly concentrating on backing up cotto.
