Yeah this is interesting. He has his pro boxing debut in 1998, and his pro MMA debut in 2000.

It looks like he tried his hand at boxing first.

Some or most, they all know the money is in boxing.

Well considering the success in the niche he has found, I don't think he is complaining.

He is so dominating in MMA. He was just not meant to be a great boxer. If you take decent boxing skills and mix them with other good attributes though, you can come out with an amazing all around fighter.

if anything this clip shows that Silva's better off in the MMA game then boxing

granted Anderson does have a tremendous amount of overall ability as he's blessed with quickness and reasonable hand speed

but take it with a grain of salt as his opponent was making his debut.

I'd say though if Anderson Silva did do boxing full time, he'd be decent, but certainly not Elite best of the best

dude- he looked pretty good, but he was in with a bum. anderson got ko'ed in his first pro bout. wheres that clip?!? roy would have annihilated him in a boxing match despite anderson's southpaw stance....

There's a recent video of him sparring on youtube. He looked decent in it. He threw great combonations, but he pulled a margarito and had no regrads for defense once so ever.
