Silva is a terrific athlete, and my favorite MMA guy to watch. He looked like a younger Antonio Tarver in that clip.

Very good, I wonder how much he has improved since then.

          Very good body shots.

If he was to get into purely boxing, do you think he may be a contender? Would he be at LHW?

If Silva had started in boxing he definitely would have been a major factor. Switching now would be a challenge, as I'm assuming he's around 30. The weight classes in UFC are higher than in boxing. I know that Silva bulked up to 205 for his last fight and regularly fights at 180 (I think) as a middleweight. So he could be a cruiser or a lightheavy, depending on how easy he drops weight training as a boxer.

I had to check Boxrec to see if he fought more as a boxer. Had two fights, that one and one way back in 1998 where he got KO'd in his pro debut.

I think that could be a reason why he went into MMA full time.

it was his opponents first pro match and to be honest he's one of the worst boxers i've ever seen

like was said in the Calzaghe thread: anyone can look good against a bum

you forget he lost his other pro fight to a journeyman

The owner of UFC, Dana White. I guess that makes Silva a coward just like Margarito.
