Baldomir was the worst champion ever.... he was the MOST overrated fighter that I have ever seen in the history of boxing. He ******, he less capable than any credible fighter.

That is a very very naive thing to say and in truth expose your biaseness, I dont agree with some of the things Boof said but i think he was right when he was talking about how biase you are.

To call Baldomir the most overrated fighter in the history/ the worst champion ever shows how limited your boxing knowledge really is.

I don't get the point of this thread. Who cares if some people overrated them before their losses? Most people here probably saw the flaws in each of their games before they were defeated; don't pat yourself on the back too hard.

This just sounds like someone trying to come off with a big, fat, blanketed "I told you so."

Here I am knocking some of my favorite fighters because I know they can do more.

Now we have a warrior like Williams, willing to fight anyone, but cannot find a dance partner for the life of him. It is not the fighters I blame either, but the management and promoters more than anything.
Pav, Floyd and Calzaghe have fought prime fighters. They are still fighting so I don't get on them too much. I did jump on Pav because he has not mentioned Abraham and Abraham said his name. Pav has fought prime threats. Pac and Arum disgust me because Pac has not fought a serious threat in his prime since the first Marquez fight. I agree with your post to an extent.

No, they aren't great fighters. The poster who answered my post is an ALT anyway.

When pit against guys who were not overly athletic, and used a basic style against them, they both failed miserably. Margs and Pav have talent don't get me wrong, but Jt and Cotto were looked at as guys who were going to be the future of boxing. Maybe they still can be. I'm the first to call them overrated based on their styles.

Jermaine Taylor had NO infighting skills, and that is why he lost to Pav. Cotto had no right hand, and no inside game against a stronger fighter and that is why he lost. J.T could box, but he had no leverage on his shots. Cotto is an excellent boxer who couldn't fight when backed up. J.T had great offense but no defense. Cotto had an excellent offense and no defense. Both fighters failed at trying to rest during a fight. They fought too hard, and hurt themselves with the way they chose to fight the men who beat them. Ali said you had to train the body to take damage to protect the head, and Duran said you have to be able to know how to rest during a fight which is why he never seemed to get tired in fights. Words of wisdom.

Yes, Cotto and J.T were overrated and I don't care what any of you say. They fought their hearts out, but when pit against their equal they failed miserably. I commend J.T for going after an immediate rematch. Margs didn't even fight Williams in an immediate rematch. We'll wait and see what Cotto does. Imo he has to rematch Margs.
Im sure NONE of JT or Cottos fan were hurt by this.

I thik that JT biggest problem is he's simply content. I have never never in my life seen a fighter who was so goddamn happy about fighting to a Draw!!!

He damn near jumped for joy when they announced that he drew with Wink. Although many people including myself seen it differently. He seems to be content on the fact that all his title defenses were close fights with the exception of Kassim Ouma. The 2 Hopkins fights very well could have gone either way, although I thought he really did enough to win the first one. The Wink fight was explained above. The Ouma fight was really a size mismatch and Ouma is a good solid fighter who was fighting in a different weight class. The same goes for Spinks, and I though that Spinks lander the cleaner shots all night and controlled the action, although you must take the title from the champion and Spinks didn't do this. Again, the Pavlik fight, the 2nd one was a fight he could have won. But it was again as though he was content in the fact he couldnt beat this guy. Taylor has skills, no doubt about it, but it's almost as he thinks he has already overachevied IMO. And we all know that when a fighter begins to become content.............He's in serious trouble!!!

Of course not. Why should they be? We all imagine the type of fighter that can beat a guy you think can be beat. My theory on these 2 fighters truly happened. The thing is I picked J.T to beat Pav, and Pav beat J.T just how I thought he would. I picked Margs to beat Cotto yet I rooted for Cotto because he was smaller and more limited in terms of advantages over Margs.

Good post. I just saw flaws in JT's game. He just couldn't fight inside. He uses too much energy punching and trying to stay on the outside or hold. Cotto expended too much energy in his fight with Margs.
