Does anyone think Margarito could ''Castillio'' Mayweather??

His style is very similar and it would defintitely be one of Mayweather's hardest fight. He defintitely wouldn't worry about his power since he ate Cotto and Cintron's best punches.

Look at the first 6 rounds and then ask yourself how would Floyd win the fight , its pretty easy to work out , Floyd will box like he did with Baldy for a boring Pts decision , he cant stand toe to toe with Margo but he can box brilliantly for 12 full rounds where Cotto could not , Cotto run out of steam because he is not as fluid and light footed as Floyd and as soon as that happens Margo is going to walk right through you which is what he did , Floyd can beat him but it will be by stealing the fight .

I don't think so. I think Floyd is a lot better at handling that kind of scenario now than he was when he fought Castillo. That's not saying that Margarito would not have a chance, I just think Floyd would move a lot better and use his defensive abilities more optimally than he did back when he fought JLC.

Margarito is a lot slower than Castillo and Mayweather is a lot faster than Cotto.

His punches are wider than Castillo's and he is slower so I don't think so, although he would be able to give Mayweather some problems because of his unrelenting pressure but in the end Mayweather would beat him by decision comfortably IMO.

I just look at it like this, if Margarito didn't care about Cotto's power, then why would he care about Mayweather's? When you have a pressure fighter that is relentess like that, then you will need to land something big to get his respect and Mayweather does not have a punch at welterweight.

For the person that told me to look at what happened in first 6 rounds with Cotto, Margarito is a slow starter and he was just warming up by 6th round. Hes one of those fighters that gets stronger as the rounds went on. At first, i thought that Margarito was just a wide open ****er, but he was getting full leverage on those power punches and was using his reach when he had Cotto on the ropes to land his power punches. If Mayweather struggled with Oscar's reach, then he would have problems with Margarito's IMO. Even years back before this fight, i have always new that he would give Mayweather hell. I'm not saying he would beat Floyd, but he is very dangerous and would be one of Floyd's harder fights.

Floyd has stood his ground against Chavez, Hernandez, Castillo, Delahoya, Hatton. And when he does so with Margarito, he'll get hurt bad. Margarito with take that 0 away from Floyd.

If Floyd just runs, or boxes away, how can he win a fight if nothing lands? Floyd is retired anyways. Would like to see him keep his word to Margarito but i don't think he will. And i don't think Delahoya will fight him sad to say.

Floyd wouldn't go unscathed but he'd win against Tony.

I also don't know if anyone noticed it or not, but Mayweather's foot speed and reflexes are not the same as they use to be. Look back at how his footspeed was so brilliant against Diego Corrlaes and Jesus Chavez, and then noticed it against De La Hoya and Hatton. He doesn't have use of the jab anymore, he gets hit a lot more and he only throws one punch at a time now. A few friends of mine and i myself thought that he was approaching the downhill slide before he retired anyway. It was a good decision.

                    Why?

I may be wrong as I have only watched each fight once, but I don't remember Mayweather hurting Baldomir or Williams hurting Margarito.

People like Calzaghe and Malignaggi manage to win fights without much power, and Mayweather is a better fighter than either of them, so I don't think that him not punching as hard as Cotto is that important.
