For his sake I hope he takes a few more chances to get the impressive win boxing fans, not just Wladimir fans, want.

You talk about Iggy like he was an 0-16 bum with no amatuer background.

When you carry the heavyweight crown, you carry the same crown that Marciano, Tyson, Foreman, all of those guys carried. I don't think those guys would have went 12 with Ibragimov, which is no knock on Ibragimov. If Wladimir was just that dominant, why hold back?

The main difference between heavyweights and other divisions is that those guys are supposed to be so big that they knock people out.

Notable heavyweight champions, George Foreman, Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, Mike Tyson. What made them so popular was that they blew people away.

Evander Holyfield suffered the same problem when he was champion because he wasn't knocking people out like Tyson. He was black and American, didn't make a difference with popular press of his day.

What people need to realize is that you're only as good as your last fight. If Klitschko looks great against Thompson, the tune will change and he'll be red hot again.
I don't think I'd include Marciano amongst the Greats. All he had was an unbeaten mafia directed record against no-hopers and WELL-over-the-hills former greats. He isn't nearly on the same level as the others in your mentioned group, and Larry Holmes' 48-0 (before Spinks) was infinitely suiperior without being a Universal Champ. This writer is a "linear " nut, when in fact, the LINEAL champions are often not worth much. Look at Carlos baldomir, in recent days, for example.

It's the Fighter who makes the belt worthy, not the opposite. Calzaghe has been recognised as the Champ for years, holding only the WBO belt, and there are many other examples. Klitschko's quality is what makes him THE Champion, not just "A"Champion. And, although the writer harps on his weak chin, it only showed "weak" against Sanders when he kept getting up, even though Sanders was helped by massive butts. As for the Brewster fight, theres' no doubt that Klitschko had a medical condition that night. When he fought Peter, he took quite a few solid right hands square on the button, without even blinking......

A couple facts right off the bat.
One; Im European and white, so the supposed hate isn't racial.
Two: There can only be one champion per division, and the sanctioning body belts only help to recognize the top contenders, the champion has the linear belt (The RING belt is usually recognized as the linear title based on their objective rankings).
Three: Wladimir Klitschko is NOT the heavyweight champion. He is bar none the best heavyweight out there, but that doesn't make him the champion, just the top contender.
Having several trinket belts means your very good and obviously in position to fight for a title, but it takes meaningful fights regardless of sanctioning body recognition to take your status further. As Europeans we have put too much credence into organizations that tax fighters and can be easily bought to put certain fighters into contention status. Therefore there is too much reliance on sanctioning body belts. There is no doubt that talent resides in the heavyweight division, but the lack of the top three fighting each other is causing the descent. Unlike Ryan, I don't care if Wladimir destroy's Tony Thompson, it will not change my opinion of him (I feel he is the best heavyweight out there period) it's just he needs to fight the best even if it means he gets stripped of one of those ****** sanctioning titles. There is more money in fighting the best out there then fighting mandatories. And I will call for Wladimir to fight and defeat peter again or whomever is ranked in the top 3 alongside him to create a World Champion.

                Typo

The "linear" nut writer is the article writer. Sorry for omission.
