Margarito: "Cotto Cant Fight Going Backwards"!

I have the PPV preview and on it Margarito said that he does well coming forward but he cant fight going backwards and thats what Margarito said there game plan is going to be. Is this true? If so then is Margarito strong enough to do it? I still think the 2 pure toughest Cotto fights were against Mosley & N'Dou and both of those guys had Cotto on the move late in the fight and I personally thought he looked uncomfortable. People try to play it like he's boxing but I think he was moreso running and not in great position to counter punch. I also question his stamina against very strong guys who can apply pressure. Can he fight a full 12 rounds on Margarito without resorting to his bike late in the fight?

There's a big difference from running in a fight and going backwards counter punching...if you don't know the difference, well there is no need to have this discussion

Cotto can fight going backwards but it isn't his strongest aspect and Margarito is definitely strong enough to push Cotto back but I'm not sure if Margarito can stop Cotto from moving to the side because Margarito isn't all that fast.

Cotto will use his stiff jab.

Cotto can fight going backwards but it isnt his strong point, He did it against Mosley but he was very uncomfortable doing it.

Cotto is a better boxer than people give him credit for, as 120 says, if you know the difference between stepping and counterpunching and getting on your bike then this discussion wouldnt be needed.!!!

I definatly know the difference between boxing and getting on your bike but alot of you guys are foolish if you think Cotto hasnt gotten on his bike before. Cotto has turned into being a great boxer & counter puncher but there have also been times where he's been flat out on his bike and uncomfortable. Dont tell me that he never got on his bike against N'Dou or Mosley because he did. Thats what Margarito is talking about. Some of it has been due to fatigue but some of it has also been due to a tough battle. Either way its not a good thing.

Im a huge Floyd fan and I think even the haters would agree that he's pretty much a 100% pure boxer and is the best out there but even he has gotten on his bike a couple of times. Just because your a brilliant boxer/counter puncher doesnt mean that you never get on a bike. Cotto has done it and Margarito thinks he can do it and when Cotto is fighting like that, he is not countering well at all and he takes some clean shots
