I disagree about Cotto having the advantage if it came down to an inside fight.

They each have advantages and you can't deny the fact that Margarito's chin is alot tougher than Cotto's. I have a feeling Margarito will land a vicious fight ending uppercut that ends the fight in 10.

Good analysis Chunk especially Point #1 - totally agree and that's a perfect description. However, my take on #2 - Mosely and Judah both checked Cotto's chin and he shook off their best shots - he was stunned but recouped quickly and responded everytime (althought the low blows didn't help his case); Tony has thudding shots, but Cotto will pick or minimize the impact. #3 - I disagree, Tony doesn't fight tall at all - he doesn't use a jab nor does he care about keeping proper space to use his leverage. As you say, Tony loves an inside fight, so who's inside game is going to be more effective??? That's the exciting plot of this fight!!! I say Cotto has the advantage being the more stout, versatile, and extremely faster fighter - but Tony has the deadly uppercut...we'll see...

If you asked me who I thought would win this fight before the Cotto vs. Gomez and Margarito vs Cintron doubleheader, I would have said Cotto. But after I saw Margarito destroy Cintron, I think Tony has a good chance at beating Cotto.

First of all, Tony's style is different than anything Cotto has ever seen. I describe it as organized brawling. It seems like he's swinging wildly, but if you look closely, they're all carefully aimed and directed (that shot to Cintron's liver was not just a lucky shot).

Second: Tony has a granite chin and has only be dropped twice. Cotto's chin was very suspect, albeit at 140, but no one has really tested it since his move up to 147.

Third: Margarito's a lot taller than Cotto, so if Cotto wants a fight, he'll have to come inside because Margarito fights tall. However, Tony loves being inside the pocket, so that may prove dangerous.

I'm saying Antonio Margarito wins by KO/TKO by round 10.

This is just my opinion, but one this for sure is that this fight is gonna be all fireworks and will rival Vasquez vs R. Marquez and Pacquiao vs J.M. Vasquez as fight of the year.

Totally agree with you. If Tony were to win, you basicly said it all. Then again, Cotto has faced better quality and has imposed his game plan. You got to be damn good to beat Judah, Mosley, and basicly abuse of Quintana, and others. If Cotto is smart and keeps his focus as expected, we will get to see why being too tall may be a disavantage. Tony's ribs cage and flank are thinner, thus he has a weaker body. Cotto won't waste his time trying to KO him with a shot to his chin. Tony's defense is his throwing rate. Once Cotto locks in his body shots, Tony will be weaken to keep his usual rate. I see Cotto winning by late KO or UD. Not even a SD.

clottey covered up the whole fight because he was scared of margaritos power. he wouldnt dare stand toe to toe with the tijuana tornado. and you saw the beating williams took in there fight. your not impressed by margaritos kos but they are better than any welterweights mosley or judah has knocked out. they can only hurt guys with glass chins thats why judah rocked cotto.
