Floyd knows beating Zab got him no respect from the people who really follow the sport...that's why he fought Baldomir.

When he beats the linear champ, then I think he'll be worthy of the praise he's currently getting.

i agree with u my intention is not to overate what he did to Diaz but u do have to take into account the weight Pac started his career and how he managed to KO a full blown LW with one punch ,a guy who is very very durable aswell

thats impressive IMO but the point i was making was Floyd is envyess of how Pacquiao is being received and thats why he came out with those childish remarks about HBO being racist and that IMO is a good indicator of why he will be enticed back into the ring ,he loves the spot light to much and perhaps he does care more about what people think about him than what he cares to admit

He'll only come back for DLH or Cotto. I'd say hatton, but I don't think anybody wouyld buy into that rematch. Nobody really wants the DLH rematch either, but DLH always sells. Cotto is the logical fight for PBF's comeback if he beats Tony, but that's a big if. Should Cotto lose on the 26th, DLH and PBF will have both lost their ideal opponent, and they might turn to each other, cuz neither will go anywhere near Margarito if he wins.

Cotto in my mind would beat De La Hoya. DLH fades quickly and Cotto has a great agressive jab.

Even though Delahoya is past it, the lack of defense Floyd sr brough up just reminds me that Delahoya in prime or past it always struggled against slick, quick technical boxers.

We're talking past prime Whitaker, Mosley although not as technical was very fast gave him problems, Mayweather, even lil Stevie Forbes.

Against Sturm, although out of shape struggled mainly because Sturm does have some good boxing skills.

I still laugh at people who make threads that say Prime Oscar Delahoya would have beaten Mayweather. It's ridiculous.....prime or not prime he has trouble with good boxers.

Yes but a not so prime De La Hoya for 6 rounds did a heck of a job, albeit for those 6 rounds only. A prime De La Hoya who knows, but it's much more likely he may have been able to extend those 6 rounds. As for my unofficial and meaningless opinion. I had De La Hoya beating Tito, splitting fights with Mosley, taking L's against Sturm, Hopkins,Whitaker and Mayweather (which was a close fight). So I have him beating two HOF's in Mosley and Tito and yes I realize that is my opinion only and not a stated fact.

Floyd has been trained to compete almost his entire life. It's in his blood and will compel him to return, sooner rather than later.

The problem with that is that Pacquiao doesn't need Floyd with opponents like Hatton and maybe De La Hoya around. Also the problems Floyd has with Cotto's promoter are the same ones he has with Manny's. I can't imagine Pacquaio's people taking what would seem like a suicide mission against Mayweather.
