No, I'm being honest. Chad Dawson is ****. Joe Calzaghe would wipe the floor with him, no problem IMO. I'd rather see Joe fight Kelly after Kelly wipes the floor with Abraham. (Which he will, Abraham has short arms, doesn't protect his body that well either.)

As for Pavlik vs. Calzaghe, I'm a fan of Kelly. An observer of Joe (Meaning that while he's not a favorite I follow him, and recognize his accomplishments and talents). As a pure fan of boxing it's a perfect style matchup.

For the record, Dawson is garbage. Tarver is better than him, and that's saying something because I equate Tarver with dog****.
Dawson isn't garbage by any stretch. He has all the tools to be a really excellent fighter. I do have some concerns over his mental side and tactical ability though, which is why I would pick Calzaghe to beat him.

As for Tarver, I quite like him, but I think he's too old now to beat Joe. In pure boxing terms Tarver and Dawson would be the two opponents I would most like to see Calzaghe face because I think they are the most credible. I'm not averse to Jones or Pavlik as fights for Calzaghe though, it would be nice to see Joe get the W over a living legend or America'a golden boy, even if I don't think either fight is as tough as Dawson or Tarver would be.

I'm cool with Calzaghe fighting live bodies like Dawson, Tarver and Pavlik, even though I think Calzaghe beats all of them (but that doesn't mean Joe can duck them)... but a fight with RJJ is a meaningless fight with no implications of any kind.

Thanks Ryno. I do try not to be insulting and I much prefer to really talk boxing, but its hard to be polite all the time!

Thing is though, Joe is retiring. I would prefer to see him in with someone who actually has a chance, but I can also very easily understand Joe's desire 1) for the biggest possible payday in his last fight, and 2) a desire to have a win over RJJ on his record, RJJ is essentially a living legend and the one guy nearly everyone agrees was better than Joe. I bet it will feel very good to Joe when he beats him.

He wants the money, there's no other reason other than that.

Dawson does have some decent tools working in his favor. His jab is amazing, he's got solid head and foot movement, he controls the ring well and he puts combos together effectively.

However his two biggest downfalls are his reaction when he's being tested (Look at his face in the Johnson fight everytime he comes out of his corner, he looks like a scared little boy who got caught stealing), and the fact that he has no spine or balls whatsoever (refusing to rematch Johnson in the post fight interview).

As for Tarver, he's alright I guess. He's just too old, and too damn ****y (Honestly, who wants to see him go off on a nice guy like Clinton Woods? And how the hell is he even saying that Hopkins is famous now because of Tarver? And claiming he was poisoned before Hopkins schooled him?).

Jones is the same way, only better and less ****y. Tells it like it is, always honest, but he's riding his own coat-tails of things he's accomplished in the past. Jones of today wouldn't last 5 rounds with prime Jones. So I don't think a win does much for Calzaghe's career considering Jones' record in the last 6 fights.

I'd rather see Kelly fight Joe, but I'm content to watch Pavlik mop up Abraham for now. After that he's got a tough decision to make, being a natural Middleweight going up to 168 doesn't make much sense but he may have to. It's either that or rack up an amazing record number of title defenses in a shallow division and get railed on for doing so. (Look at Hopkins)

A lot of people are going to be picking Roy to upset him, so it's a little more than just the money.
