Both get more props than they deserve, but Pac has got this with his legacy and is globally respected within boxing.
Floyd's recognition tends to be USA focused, which is a bit secular considering the sport is catered for World Champions.
The glory days are well behind both now, which is reflected in the competition they focus on now. That said, Floyd has nothing more to offer boxing and should stay retired unless he returns to boxing alone.
History has a habit of highlighting negatives. Floyd could do without a resume that includes Professional fighters,
Domestic Females and the Rocky Vs Thunderlips BS currently under discussion with UFC.

In 2008 this would have been true but I don't think it is true anymore. Floyd beat the man who Manny could never beat clearly in Marquez, had a longer title fight win streak than Manny did, and beat Manny himself. He beat the man and beat the man who beat the man essentially. So yes, Floyd is greater.

You know this poll has been remade a bunch of times since the fight and Manny always loses by a huge margin. Lest we forget the writers and historians had Floyd well ahead of Manny before they even fought (they didn't even have Manny in the top 25 since WWII).

There is no 'objective' view about who is the greatest Era. It's just opinion and its no surprise Americans side with an American, and some of them like Max Kellerman, Jim Lampley, etc. etc. gives Pacquiao the nod of being the greatest fighter of the Era.
