I should have typed out a lengthy paragraph full of adamant descriptions that have absolutely no bottom line other than a defense of a previous post.............or another quick nutstab at how great the super middle weight division is.

So your saying the SMW division isn't good?

Well your proving your a total idiot.

      -Kessler
      - Jermain Taylor
      - Bute
      - Andrade
      - Froch
      - Miranda
      - Pascal
      - RJJ i think aswell.

      Etc etc etc.

      What has MW got?

Pavlik, Arthur, Felix, Winky, Mundine? Thats not much at all. Then theres guys like Randy Griffin etc etc etc.

        Is a disgrace.

P.S I thought Taylor won the 2nd fight.
I was referring to the matter of who was ahead on the cards after round 3, but whatever.

The fact of the matter is Miranda was wildly over rated. Just like numerous American stars are being now. No matter whether they are American or not, but they are American based.

I guess what im trying to say is that, American based fighters are automatically presumed as those not based in America. And it is very sad, and a degrading factor for our sport.

To those absolute tools posting about Mundine in this thread, grow up. And to those calling me anti-american, grow up aswell. If you can't see the injustices which fighters like Abraham have had to suffer for years, until they got the chance to break into the US market, its quite ludicrous.

Why it took Calzaghe towards the end of his career to score a fight on HBO/Showtime or whatever. Why Kessler is fighting overseas. Why Sturm is fighting overseas.

And you have these cards with kids like Gamboa on it, absolutely baffles me.

Gamboa is what 26? He has no defence. And everyone talks him up. Sure hes quick, but if he has a career half as glamorous as Kessler or Calzaghe i doubt it. Yet he has his own cards, and headlines cards.
Do you think the US locks it's doors against foreign fighters or something? Give me a ****ing break. Abraham could have came over years ago if he wanted to, he just chose to stay in Germany at the time. There is no closed door policy in the US. The requirement is to show up and fight. That is all. Abraham also has not suffered a bit. He earned his keep in Europe and probably got some great paydays over there. If he keeps performing in the US like he did a few hours ago, he will get big paydays there also.

And Gamboa is not American, but once again, he gets exposure for fighting there. He is viewed as a top prospect and nothing more.

Can you not read? Im saying American based fighters.

My conclusion is simple and it can't be proven wrong. HBO/Showtime are the biggest boxing networks in the world. Please explain to me, why Gamboa, to me a very over rated fighter. Who i do predict will eventually become a world champion, more than once i doubt. But how can he headline cards? And it takes Calzaghe 39 wins? And countless defences to get his own card? Same with Kessler, why isn't Kessler on HBO/Showtime? There are so many flaws in the system. An over rated young fighter headlining a card, over two proven world champions and elite fighters.

Probably because the American-based fighters are fighting on American TV and are exposing themselves to the American market so that they build up popularity and there exists the demand from the public to see their fights. On the other hand, guys like Calzaghe, Kessler and Abraham until now have targeted other markets and built up demand in them.
Do you suggest that HBO and Showtime follow a non-profit maximising business strategy simply to give non-US fighters more credit and exposure? Because that is quite irrational.

                      Yep.

And it will eventually pay off in the end.

While HBO/Showtime may loose some profits when airing the first couple of fights from these European based elite fighters. Eventually there class will shine through, giving them an even larger fan base, than the non-elite home fighters could generate. Leading to bigger profits in the future. Its all logical, from a business sense, long term, not short term though.

                      But its worth testing out.

It will mean we watch the highest quality fighters and fights, on the big channels, which is what we all want from the sport in the end.
