i have to agree with the thread starter..
      and the user Thread Stealer..

I love watchin Arturo Fight.. Many people here have only seen a few of his fights. Gatti early in his careeer was a very good fighter.. when he was a super feather he was in tip top shape and was a great ****er with pretty good skills..
His problem was, he liked to FIGHT.. Watch the Tracy Patterson fights, he was clearly outboxing the **** outta him, then in the later rounds he wanted to **** it out which let tracy do some damage.
He did lose to manfredy, but that was back and forth, and if you watch it, it was stopped on Cuts.. so who know what would've happened if it continued..
He had some amazing fights, and sometimes he made his fights harder than they should've been (Joe Hutchinson) , but thats why we love Gatti. He fought his heart out in all his fights regaurdless if he was getting his ass beat..

I find it really disrespectful to the people who are like, "ahahaha gatti is a human punching bag.." or "a glorified bum" .. When I read those comments I try to brush them off.

He had skill, he was fast for the most part of his career, but he aged fast due to parties, alcohol and all the wars hes in..

I appriciate what hes done for the sport, and I'll always be a fan..

Gatti has a warrior aura about him. People adore him for what he represented.

Gatti is the type of guy that if he was at a convention, and he was standing next to Mayweather and Oscar with all of them signing autographs, Gatti would have the longest line.

He has always come across as down to earth and approachable. He was one of the biggest stars of the 90's for a reason. Pure Blood and Guts. He made a ****load of money because of who he was. He never had to ride coattails, others rode his.

Actually, you can argue that Angel Manfredy had less talent than him and beat him.
Ivan Robinson beat him and he was fading and still beat him and his corner threw in the towel against DLH.
I thought Gatti's fights with Ward were great, but the thing is, he had more boxing skill than you think and he would get baited into wars really easily when he could've fought a ton smarter.
He was a nice entertaining fighter, but he could've done more.

And I think there's a fine line between being a warrior and not being too smart.
