barely squeaked by? hes won his last 2 fights by early KO. robert hawkins went the distance and almost beat him (horrible performance by tua) and he won his 2 previous fights before hawkins by KO. definately c level opposition but i wouldnt say he barely squeaked by

the one thing he has going for him is he has the coolest trunks in the heavyweight division hands down.
he has such a long reach, and tua is not skillful enough to dodge and get on the inside.

Christ Almighty.
Literally I'd pay someone not to watch that fight for me.

Tua has fought no one in the past two years to earn him any title shot.
Right now he is not deserving, but that could change very quick with a meaningfull fight or two.
I agree he would have tiny chances against Wlad, but his chances would be decent against Chagaev, Peter and Maskaev.

Out of all the heavyweight champions, Tua has the best chance at beating Maskaev, which is a guy that he has already knocked out. In my opinion, Peter will beat Maskaev anyway so Tua's chances of getting a belt is very limited. He will run into problems with those pure boxers like Chagaev and especially Wladimir.
Prime Tua was a monster and i would have picked him to beat Tyson. He had fast hands, power, combination punching, and all of the heart in the world. I personally think that Mr. Ibeabuchi had a lot to do with Tua not getting a title. I think that Ike broke his spirit when he stood there and out slugged Tua, which nobody has ever done before.
