exactly mate. pavliks chin would be hit more than ever before, and joe contrary to many peoples opinion is no slapper. He had more than enough pop to keep kessler at bay and hurt him on a few occasions. Not to mention joe has one of the best chins in boxing himself

I can't help noticing the "Brit" comment, obviously your opinion is biased.

An unbiased boxing fan will tell you, Joe Calzaghe beats Kelly Pavlik comprehensively.

And "Pavlik's chin is way too much for Calzaghe"?, last time I checked the rule book fighters chins are not allowed to be used as part of a combination.

Calzaghe outpoints Pavlik easily.

And btw Kessler hits harder than Pavlik, Joe walked through the few shots he managed to land.

If you put 168 pounds of meat into a machine with the express instructions to produce a fighter ideally suited to Joe Calzaghe, you would come out with Kelly Pavlik. I like him but it's a terrible matchup for him. Much better sitting it out in 160, build a bit of a legacy (if he survives the Taylor II fight, which depends as much on Taylor's state of mind as anything) and move up when the better man retires and he can't stay at 160 any more.

We've not even seen Pavlik at 168 yet - he's unproven, lets see if his power holds up.
