Before this fight, although I heard of him, I never saw Paul Williams until his lanky physique entered the ring. The scenario induced flashbacks of Tommy Hearns vs. Pipino Cuevas. And given Max Kellerman's pre-fight hype of Williams - dubbing him "The Inconvenient Truth" - started to make a believer out of me. Then as the fight began to unfold, I realized that the only inconvenient truth with regard to Williams, was to Williams himself. In retrospect, I was glad to see Quintana repeatedly punch that silly pre-fight grin off Williams' face with his left hand...
Harold Lederman, who wore his bias for Williams on his sleeve, scored the fight 115-113 in his behalf. Quintana - by all objective observers - clearly won the 11th. round, but Lederman shamelessly awarded it to Williams.Last edited by Panamaniac; 02-10-2008, 01:13 AM.

And some people were saying this guy would beat Money May..
I remember I posted anyone would need to be a fool to bet on Quintana. Parody offered me 80,000 points to my 20,000 points if I bet on Quintana, and I turned it down. I feel like the fool now...

When I saw Quintana for the first time take out Julio with ease I knew he was a good fighter. The guy is slick as hell, has great movement and has a feel for the ring that you can see is pure talent. When Cotto destroyed him so easily I was completely shocked, but Quintana poses problems for any fighter in the WW division.
