He's proven at HW, that's all but doesn't have as much pop as Haye. Haye's power shots would tear right right through Roy's high guard. Mr Jones would then go to sleep for a few minutes.

fair enough, Hopkirk; but a younger Roy could fight a bigger puncher without getting hurt

I'm starting to think that Haye might be a bit too big now after really revisiting him. That plus the fact that John Ruiz was really the only big man that Jones has fought at a higher weight so we really can't take tou much off of that considering Ruiz is horrible. Haye is too strong and Jones's punch will not be able to hurt him. Haye also has enough skills to get to Jones.

I personally believe that Haye would be too big for him. He is 6'4 and was really always a heavyweight that had been pulling himself down to make cruiserweight. Not only that but he is also very elusive and has the ability to get to Jones. His power would be devestating where as Jones's wouldn't to Haye.

This is a mismatch, Haye is not an unskilled fighter and would land enough on Jones to get the job done. With his power just about anything landing on Jones' chin would annihilate him. Haye by KO in the middle to late rounds. However if somehow Jones miraculously avoids all power shots (unlikely), Jones UD.

That is what i was thinking as well. Jones would have to avoid power punches from a fast( unlike John Ruiz) power puncher with good skills to boot. I use to think that Jones would win( as seen in the beginining of this thread) but Haye is simply too big and too much. Jones doesn't have anything to back him off.

LOL, were talking PRIME ROY HERE!

unbeleivable handspeed would completely overwhelm Haye

                    |Roy of today far enough Haye TKO

but not back then, not even close. Roy takes it comfortably. Prime Roy NEVER got hit flush, and he fought guys faster than Haye

jones by ud only cause roy stopped gunning for the knockout in like 98 or something like that. from then on he would carry opponents, a la richard frazier, david talesco, tito trinidad, etc....
