Being a finisher and a KO artist are not mutually exclusive abilities. In fact, they're interrelated. While it's implied that a KO artist can take you out with one punch, he also has the ability to put an opponent away as soon as he's in trouble. -

I'm sorry but Monzon just wasn't a finisher.
His fights were all snoozers. All consisted of jabs followed by straight rights and clinching when the opponent tried to tie up.
