In my case, it's wishful thinking.

The "best fighter in the world" should be fighting the best competition. At WW, Cotto and Williams are Floyd's best competition. I don't think anyone will mortgage their house to bet on Cotto, but as fight fans we deserve to see them fight.

Cotto is a sucker for the overhand right and the uppercut. Floyd's best punch in the overhand right/right straight.

I'd think he'd be able to use the uppercut a lot too since he can adjust like the way he does.

I see Floyd winning along the lines of 117-111 or 116-112. Maybe a lot closer if Cotto kept his speed that he showed at the beginning of the Mosley fight, but I doubt he would be able too.

Tito actually beat people. But Floyd beat Genaro Hernandez (long time champ), Diego Corrales (Fought just like Cotto, with pressure and power), JLC (2X) and so on and so on. Look at the records of people like De La Hoya, Tito, ANd other past champions and Cotto doesnt even come close to the level of competition. Why do people feel that he cant take the power of Cotto when he took Oscar's power and speed ( yes Oscar is faster and stronger because he fights in a bigger weight class). On top of that Cotto has a soft chin. If Chop Chop Corley and Ricardo Torres had him on noodle legs at 135 and 140 tell me how will he take being hit by a guy who has fought al the way up to 154. And dont say he took Mosley's power because Mosley is NOT a BOXER he is a brawler with short arms that fights on the inside and was way past his prime. And dont say that he knocked out Vargas because Mayorga drop vargas 2X. I just dont see how Cotto even has a chance. To me, they are just trying to make this guy to be more than he actually is because of the Puerto Rican community and they see the MONEY potential in him.
I give Cotto a chance. I see Mayweather pulling out a tough, but well desevered UD. I like Cotto a lot. Love his aggressivness and his body attack. But to get inside, he is going to take some lead rights. He will have to take some serious punishment to get that vaunted body attack to be effective. If Cotto's willing to pay the price, he has a shot. But as Mayweather has shown, he can be pretty good on the inside as well. Can't wait for the fight to happen.

I've come to the conclusion that you are simply ****** and don't know anything about the fighters you're talking about. I'll elaborate:

How can you take anything away from a fighter who fights everyone that's been put in front of him and has beaten them all? Cotto hasn't even fought Torres and Corley at 135, wtf?! Mosley's not a boxer? LOL, DLH asked him to be a sparring partner because he needed a good boxer who could mimic Mayweather's speed and boxing ability. Short arms? This comment convinced me you're talking out of your ass, Mosley being 5'9" has unusually long arms(74" reach) , people even commented on this board that it might have had played a significant factor in his fight with Cotto. Mosley can box and brawl, he outboxed a prime DLH didn't he? Vargas was a shell of himself when he fought Mayorga, if you wanna talk about fighters not in their prime, THAT was a fighter not in his prime. Torres and Corley are/were dangerous punchers, Cotto has more experience now. Torres is still a feared puncher @ 140 and Corley broke Mayweather's shell as I recall, but that's not worth mentioning right?

              Get your facts straight

This is why they're scared to see him fight Paul Williams, who'd surely kick his ass around the ring and shatter his class chin.
Yeah Cotto's overrated an Williams isn't right? Who did Williams fight again? Margarito, err...oh right he's fighting a guy Cotto destroyed in an embarassing fashion.

Cotto's already said he'd fight anyone, he doesn't do the matchmaking remember. I've been reading your comments for quite some time now and it seems that you're consistent in trying to take Cotto's wins away by devaluating his wins and praising other fighters over him. At the same time you're contradicting yourself by saying Cotto is a really good fighter. You've just lost your credibility

IMO smart money bets on Mayweather but Miguel Cotto is nothing to be played with. ''washed up'' Judah and slightly past his prime Mosley were still top 10 elite welterweights and a big threat to anyone when Cotto beat them. Cotto could bring the heat and **** that body, altough my boy Floyd has shown that he does not crumble under pressure. plus Cotto sometimes give room for his opponents to box and that wouldn't be good if you are fighting Floyd. i see Floyd keeping his composure, boxing, tying up on the inside, countering off the ropes, and clinching a SD, i think it will be a close fight.
