Boxing and running are 2 different things.

I hope Floyd is paying you money to write this stuff because it is not easy to shut up Mayweather haters and you are doing a good job of that

I think people/fans confuse boxing and running. Seasoned fans know the difference but for those who dont. Floyd is a good boxer who occasionally runs. Some boxers are really good boxers but mix in too much running and this makes it boring and also can endanger a win... IE. Hoya vs. Trinidad. Some boxers think they can fool the fans and to an extent they do (but usually its the fan that nuthugs "the runner"that is blinded). Hector Macho Camacho Sr. was an excellent boxer but he also ran too much...caused him fights but when he boxed more he usually won. Joan Guzman is another one, he has boxing ability but does the running man even more....his nuthuggers (like 2-3 on this site say he has knockouts) but the knockouts (95%) came in D.R....Anyway Joan and Hector were no where near the level of Floyd when it comes to boxing /running. They both run too much and Floyd boxes more.

I Don't think Floyd is a runner I just think his style is ***ING BORING!!!!!!

And add the fact that he rarely fight anybody that could potentially hit him back and you have a PFP#1 fighter who can only generate luke warm PPV numbers.

He also drew 950,000 PPV buys with Hatton, the highest non HW PPV fight not including Oscar

He drew more PPV buys in a calender year than any fighter in history

Call Floyd boring but he is a draw on the basis that many people want to see him lose his 0 and because he knows how to sell a fight

DLH and Hatton were the overwhelming fan favorites and they were the ones who drew those PPV numbers not Floyd.

The only credit I will give floyd is that he was such a giant Douche Bag that i think that even more DLH/Hatton fans bought the PPV just to see their fighter win.

People will relate to what they find familiar/similar to themselves.
Most people would have to overcome the odds because of a lack of athletic talent, which is why most people will root for the brawler/underdog against the "superior" athlete.
People will critisize the things that doesn't support their view, in other words, bash the opponent of their favorite fighter.

Most athletic boxers will most likely favour a SRL/PBF/RJJ over smashers like Margarito/Tua etc. Why? Because of the same thing; they will relate to people like themselves, athletic individuals.

Thats what i'm trying to say, He puts on an act which in turn makes people hate him therefore drawing people in, Love Him or Hate Him he draws people in and the fact that more threads on Boxingscene are about him than any other fighter ( while he's retired ) and the fact that his name seems to creep its way into every thread is a testament to this.
