Im not just saying this because Cotto is my favorite fighter....I think Cotto has the style to beat Mayweather. He applies constant pressure and doesnt hold anything back, he is ruthless when it comes to letting his hands go. Floyd lacks the pop at 147 to keep a beast like Cotto off of him. Cotto isnt an old Oscar De La Hoya or Carlos Baldomir.

By the way Mayweather is a ***in idiot saying there is no money in a Cotto fight if he beats Mosley and that he wouldnt mind fighting Williams or Cintron. Thats a bich move.

i also agree with hi spost. cotto would be easier for floyd than mosley and williams. but, if cotto does beat shane, then floyd should fight cotto eventually. floyd's logic is easy to poke holes in like kellerman claimed before floyd's fight with gatti, but i do feel he would fight cotto and beat cotto in a bad way like kellerman also claimed.

the thing that gets me is, now we have people compalining about floyd not fighting cotto when paul williams is considered by many of you on here floyd's toughest opponent at 147 and many of you on here has stated this a lot. of course, i should know better than to take your posts seriously seeing how you people also claim that mosley has the best chance of beating floyd, cotto has the best chance, and ricky hatton has the best chance because of his pressure. yada yada yada. make up your ****ing minds people.

now, floyd wants to fight the winner of cintron and williams which if that is williams would be a really tough opponent for him, and to add on to his legacy, also, he wants to fight shane mosley if he beats cotto, which you people have wanted to see for a long time now, even though shane ducked floyd publicly and at 135, now since cotto has become your hero, he should fight floyd, and that's fine because i would love to see cotto fight floyd and get embarrassed by mayweather, and **** bob arum(just had to add that in there). also, williams imo would beat cotto if they fought and i don't know who is going to win this saturday between cotto and mosley, but i would love to see floyd fight and embarrass shane's ass also, which he would do and you people know. floyd throws much better punches and he is more accurate than shane and has a much more solid defense. speedwise, floyd's got shane to but he's overall faster than shane, not just on offense, but on defense and on his overall style. floyd's style is so pronounced more than shane because floyd knows how to adjust his speed on offense and defense very well. shane doesn't. he instead knows how to go wild and close his eyes when he throws his punches which are hard and fast punches but are sloppy at times. against floyd, that would prove incorrect to do. and cotto, he's a solid fighter but he is too slow for mayweather and would get hit way too much against floyd whose faster upperbody movment would win him the fight easily, trust me when i claim this, as i am no fool. cotto pressures good but not great, he cuts off the ring good, but not great. he throws great body shots against guys who is vulnerable against them as well as guys who folds under pressure against them. floyd was vulnerable against castillo back in 2002, but that was an injured floyd who lost steam but still managed a close win against him. 2007 and 2008 floyd is much smarter and much more observant than before. i rea;;y don't see how cotto could defeat floyd unless floyd all of a sudden loses his chin and gets knocked out, which i don't see occuring seeing how floyd has taken shots against middle and supermiddle weights. cotto was rocked by judah and floyd was for that matter although floyd systematically broke judah down, and cotto tore judah down. floyd is the smarter fighter, and overall the more poise fighter than cotto is. on this note, i still would love to see floyd unify the belts with a showdon against cotto which floyd would win and i would love to see him fight the winner of cintron and williams because i see him punishing cintron and beating williams in a tough fight on paper. either way, everybody wants floyd, and needs floyd whether they want to admit it or not.

i cant belive people say mayweather is not a coward when he says stuff like this and is always ducking the best. he would fight old ass mosley but not prime cotto?? what a *****.

if he really wont fight cotto, I DOUBT he would fight williams. Williams is the bigger threat, though Cotto is a threat too. This is straight up ducking, Cotto is a bigger star than williams or cintron(duh). Particularly if he beats mosley.

Mosley at 36 years old is no big threat to mayweather.

PBF shoiuld just fight who is put in front of him how olden day boxers used to do, and stop the talking. PBF should let his handlers arrange who he fights and pbf should just train and make sure he turns up on fight night.

williams beats cotto and cintron possibly beats cotto with a few knockdowns. mayweather may not have the pop at 147, but he still has the speed and of course we can't forget smarts at 147. and yes, he is a much smarter fighter than cotto and you know it as well as i do. floyd is faster, has better adjustment skills, counterpunches better and faster, more accurate, and goes to the body just as well if not better, even though cotto hits harder to the body. floyd could easily break cotto down with his speed, but i see him breaking cotto down to the body and with uppercuts which floyd doesn't throw a lot of, but when he does agressively he throws them hard and they have impact. cotto would have to beat on floyd's arms to get floyd to change his gameplan(like putting his arms down more) and confuse him. he won't outbox floyd, this we all know. he won't out counterpunch him, this we all know. he doesn't fight better off of the ropes than floyd, this is obvious. cotto would basically have to have a perfect night to beat floyd and here's why. floyd's stamina allows him to adjust at any time in the fight. he is so well conditinoed that he can have the same pop on his jab in the 1st round and in the 12th round(cotto doesn't). now, i'm not saying cotto isn't well conditioned, because he trains very hard, but in claiming this, cotto would have to have a gameplan a,b,c,d, and e because floyd is natually great at adjusting to fighters and cotto isn't slow but he is too slow for floyd's overall skills. floyd is methodical in the ring, cotto just looks methodical, and when he is relentless with his attack you can see in his eyes that he's not going to stop. i'll give cotto that. but, floyd has too much zest for boxing for cotto to beat him imo. cotto would have to have zab's speed, keep his stamina, and have pernell whitaker defense, and actually mayweather's mindset to an extent and have a great night. he would have to constantly swarm floyd and break his arms down to get him to unleash his defense, which could prove damn near impossible seeing how floyd would be tagging him all night. and footwork? cotto doesn't really stand a chance. cotto has great power but doesn't have the skill to really break down a great mover like floyd is is so well poised and can turn it on at any time and take over a fight, cotto would have to have the perfect night. floyd would frustrate cotto a lot, so basically, floyd would have to have a very bad night as well as cotto having a very good night for cotto to win, which i dont' see happening seeing just how hard floyd trains all year round. but, we'll have to wait to find out.

A fight with Cotto in MSG would generate alot of money.Cosidering that boricuas are very supportive of their fighters.Besides if Cotto beats Mosley doesn't that make him the the #1 Contender?

He wouldn't fight Cotto if Cotto sent him a tape of himself practicing body shots on his kids.
