Funny thing is that I think Mayweather with his boxing skills he can become Middleweight Champion, "did you see what Corey Spinks got away with at Middleweight?" Mayweather is a better fighter then Spinks. Thing is Mayweather doesn't have the balls or interest to go up to middleweight, i don't think he's to eager to challenge the best "Taylor" at middleweight. Though i think eventually we will see him challenge someon at middleweight. Just too bad it may be after he loses or at the end of his career.
Youre right, I think Floyd could be the middle weight champion too, it just doesnt seem to be an interest of his. Floyd is already an all time great but i just dont think he wants to take that risk. Yes hes a small guy, barely made 154, but im certain his skills could make him the middle weight champion.

Duran's legacy being questioned is something i never thought i would see by the way haha

Patiently review his career and more importantly watch his fights...it will then dawn on you.

Why would you want Floyd to move all the way up to MW? Duran had the sort of power to compete that high up in weight, Floyd has the boxing ability to go up that high but he has nowhere near the power to keep those huge guys off him.

Spinks is a mere image of Mayweather. No doubt about it. And Spinks had the balls to fight at middleweight then i assume Mayweather does too, at least at some point in time he will fight at middleweight. But! i think even today he can compete with the middleweights, once Taylor leaves, the division may be wide open. Even though some europeans hold the title, im still not convinced that they are such a big threat at middleweight.

Multi-division champion against great opponents, fought in 5 decades, could box with boxers and slug with sluggers (toe to toe with Hagler), beat a prime Leonard, and even more; plus hes awesome.

Pound for pound great in head to head matchups and accomplishments, great record and proved himself against all time greats, holds boxing records, and is exciting to watch.

                Duran isn't over hyped.

People keep saying that certain fighters from yesteryear are over hyped, overrated etc, but when they attempt to present a case for such an assertion they end up falling short.

Usually its because they haven't seen enough of the 'said' fighter to make accurate judgement....

Duran is a legend. He's a legend because of what he achieved in the ring. Anyone who disagrees hasn't seen him fight....

this sums it up but to appreciate Duran you need to watch his fights, the guys was just great in so many ways.

I swear when i bought a few of Durans fights after watching them i was confinced he is the greatest or one of the greatest fighter ever. His had skills upon his great seek and destroy style. Im not sure where Duran ranks but he has to rank high, the guy could do it all.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paul Williams was a big fan of Duran or if one of his trainers were big fans of Duran.

Duran fighting SRL,Hagler & Hearns was like Manny P fighting Hopkins,Mosley,& Lacy, that's why you have to look at the overall carrer instead of the losses.

Duran was someone who might not have been "great" at anyone thing but he was very very good at everything which is something that very few are able to be and that is what makes him such a all time great.
