I can't name a single person I've ever heard say or read type stating that Berto was the next welterweight champ. Nobody even knows who he is, and the people that do pointed out time in and time out that he's a work in progress.
nobody thinks he will be a welter champ?
alright we will see

butter clearly wants to win this DEAD argument with all costs.Even when the points dont favor him.
There are no haters because Khan legitimately should of lost that fight. The ref was bogus...He counted to about 13. And on top of that he got caught against a supposed feather duster. The guy he was fighting was tough, but was not even a C level fighter.
Berto stepped up and fought a C level guy. A guy whos been there and done that.
berto is still developing , really all you can say. His trainer (anyone know who?) Will probably school him on his wild aggression that led to the KD. David Estrada is highly underated tho and if this is his next opponent that will be a very good fight and maybe a bit too much for Berto to handle at the moment. If you want to know how good Estrada is take a look at his fights against Mosley and Cintron.
Talk about a scary night for promoter Lou DiBella. Undefeated welterweight Andre Berto (19-0, 16 KOs), regarded as a future superstar in the sport, was rocked by an uppercut and knocked down in the sixth of his ten-round bout with Cosme Rivera (30-11, 21 KOs) at the Saratoga Springs City Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. This fight proved to me that Berto is beatable and that he almost got beat by a guy with 10 losses. Though, I was at a club when this fight took place, but caught part of the fight and it looked as though Berto did struggle against Rivera even though he definitely won but this fight was far from easy for him.

BERTO was known to have a shaky chin in the ameuters and was on the canvas a few times, where they use bigger gloves and headgear.LARRY MERCHANT mentioned that in the BERTO/MIGUEL FIGEROA fight that was aired on an HBO undercard. I BELIEVE IT WAS taylor/ouma anyway last night made me realize maybe MERCHANT wasn't talking out of his ass .
Boxing fandom is getting worse. It's bad enough that a fighter is only one loss away from being labelled a bum. Now it seems that a fighter getting knocked down is enough to forever label him a no-hoper. What was once applauded as courage and determination is now derided as weakness, and I can't help but think that the sport of boxing suffers from it.
OMG! Ya give credit to Berto? What about when Cotto got staggered not floored by chop chop, ya were all over Cotto like flies on ****. plus the fact that Chop Chop has pop. Everbody was making outrageous threads saying Cotto was exposed and that he would never beat an elite. But here you are giving propes to Khan and Berto. Nobody mentioned the fact that berto took an extra minute and a half after the knock down to "change" his glove, what kind of **** was that?
