What Caused Roy Jones Jr.'s Decline? Steroid use or father time catching up with him?

What do you believe caused Roy Jones Jr.'s sudden decline in 2003? In your opinion was it the having to lose 25 lbs. of muscle and old age or was it that the BALCO story broke and Roy got off performancing enhancing steroids that made him perform super human? I'm interested to see these poll results.

Roy just got old. And losing all that weight didn't help.

The weight and age. Although it seems a bit odd how rapidly he declined....

You cant say someone was juicing when theres no proof

he was just overated and finally took a few wrong fights

he maybe did, I never thought much of him.
he should never have gone to Hw in that case

People that believe Roy Jones juiced usually say that was linked with BALCO and that he tested positive for the Richard Hall fight.

I guess Roy said that it might have been medicine he was taking or an over the counter supplement called ripple fuel. I don't know...Thats just what I've read.

Maybe it was one punch. Tarver just caught him. It was probably da weight. His reflexes may have slowed down some. He needs to become more defensive like Hopkins to win.

It was old age. Prime Roy probably eats Tarver alive and makes quick work of Glen Johnson.

roys name was never mentioned in that scandle.

alot of fighter were, sugarshane, holyfield, varges. but not roy.

add to that the idea that steroid use would negatively affect his defining quality ie: speed, as it did for shane and you have to say it was the musle loss, at such an advanced age for an athlete, that led to his decline.

he stayed at 200lb for too long waiting for a tyson or holyfeild fight, then sweat it off in a month to fight tarver.

he should have fought for a title at cruser, he wouldnt have had to have lost to much weight and could easly bulked up or slimed down for the best fight at
                    heavy or ltheavy.

                    oh well its history now.
