Cause Hatton fans tell us he's an unstoppable & overwhelming opponent, when all we've seen in recent history is lack-luster performances. I'm from the U.S. & tho he did show some skill in his last fight, we just don't see what you see, & when guys come on here swearing he can stop the best & from what we've seen he can barely beat B-fighters. Maybe the Castillo fight will make me a believer, but I honestly don't think he's gonna get past him.

Why is there so much hate for Ricky Hatton?

There's a huge element of British fans on this site who don't get it. There isn't a lot of hatered towards Hatton on this website. From a crop of ******s, yes, there is a decent amount of hatered. But these are the same people who most people ignore anyway, so their posts are taken as the ramblings of fools. Ultimately, people on this site for the most part acknolwedge that Hatton is a solid fighter, but they simply see nothing overly special about him... myself included.

Bitterness and Envy
Hattons hated the for the same reasons anyone or anything thats succesful is hated for bitterness and envy. Its true loadsa people are just bitter with their lot in life so start hateing because of it. Hattons a top bloke I've met him before and hes a genuinley nice bloke so all this hatred isnt based any on anything other then the fact hes a success. He has got where he is through heart and determination I hope he can recapture the kind of performance he gave against Tyzu when he fights Corralles and maybe then people will lay off him but I dont they will they'll just find another reason to pull Hatton to pieces.

I don't think Hatton's a greatly talented boxer, but I'm a fan because I admire his heart and toughness.
Here's what i said in $in's poll, these were my reason, purely boxing reasons, reasons to do with the sport of boxing, for disliking hatton, i must say as a person he seems like a good guy.
This was in reply to Miksterious.
No, its got nothing to do with that, its to do with BOXING reason, Hatton outside the ring must be one of nicest guys in boxing, its not personal, but in terms of what goes on in the sport of BOXING, these 6 reasons are all valid.
1) He priced himself out against Mayweather.
2) He said he was gonna fight witter, now he says he will never fight him.
3) He said he felt more powerful than ever at 147, when he nearly lost, he said he had a cold and nearly had to pull out, then said the weight didnt suit him.
4) He said he would give collazo a rematch, then went back on his word.
5) He consistenly uses spoling tactics and illegal tactics in the ring.
6) I like skills, he cant block a basic right hand lead.
Nothing personal, just facts.

Please dont call Britain a 'little pond'. Big sharks can still come to fight over here and in fairness its probably the second or third biggest pond in the boxing world.
And please don't give that he has fought in 2o different countries B.S.
The USA is still the mecca of boxing,worldwide....
The most fighters come from here, most of the best fighters are here...and if you are truly a world champ, then you should come and show yourself.
And when one of your 'defining' wins is against Omar Sheika,or Ben Tackie...well,that speaks for itself.
Much respect to Ricky Hatton for realizing this...and as for Calzone, not so much.He remains a good local champ...which is great for him and his fans, but don't try to put him down as an all-time great...he's much closer to Brian Neilsen,or Neilson...what ever the 'Dutch Pastry' was, just like Calzone.
