Why is there so much hate for Ricky Hatton?

Collazo has a ****ty corner. The few fights of his that I have seen they have had no idea what to tell him. Some fighters need a good corner that is actually watching what is happening, I think his must be full of blind people. Oh well his tattoos are cool, lol.

Maussa the snaggletooth wonder is considered a good win? Holy crap! That is amazing to me! It was plainly obvious to everyone that he was a bum when he beat Harris. That is why it was such a shocker. I was freaking amazed, the fight was supposed to be another win on Harris's record and everyone watching the fight knew it.

The only reason I don't like Hatton is because I can't stand all the clinching. He is incredibly boring for me to watch. Half the fight he is holding.

EDIT: I am not trying to blame Collazo's corner, if he was a better boxer he could win either way. I am not trying to say he is not responsible for his loss. I am just saying his corner is crappy.

Duran was considered disappointing when he first fought above lightweight. Comparisons with Rick are not far off the mark. Especially as Duran was known for putting on tremendous amounts of weight between fights, which affected his ability.

There is some hate towrads Hatton but nothing like PBF or Taylor.

Part of it is because he is white. White fighters in boxing always have to damn near decapitate every fighter to get respect. Anytime a white guy wins a big fight that isnt a near decapitation, all these nut huggers of color come out the woodwork crying for weeks with a million excuses for why the other guy lost.

I note that there are an equal amount of white nuthuggers who go crazy anytime a white guy wins as well.

Second, Hatton has been hyped up a lot, and since he beat Zu, he hasnt done anything spectacular, and mind you he was the top 10 P4P list, I think. For someone as hyped up he is, he hasnt lived up to it.

This pretty much hits the nail on the head. Its not Hatton that people don't like, its his fans that think these nobodies equal a good resume. Hatton is supposed to be the man at 140 and regarded as one of the best fighters in the world yet he won't fight the best. He beat Tszyu 2 years ago and hasn't made a real fight since. Castillo is decent, but really should be a guy he fights in between bigger fights. Maussa and Urango could've been Mayweather, Cotto, Witter, Harris or Lazcano. And if he was going to 147 he could've fought someone ranked in the top 10. Stop talking about it and fight a real threat.

maussa earned his shot by knocking harris out, that's not hatton's problem.

I believe,as someone pointed out...it's his fans that most people hate,for building him up to a position that he has not earned yet.

Personally...I'm giving him much props for fighting in America now.Unlike that other hated on ***** Calzone.Who remains the big fish in a little pond.
Win,lose or draw...much more respect goes out to Hatton.

Hattons just an average fighter hes well overated i think.I can remember him saying after the callozo fight that all the great fighters move up in weight just like floyd mayweather did, yet he moved straight back down cuz he knew he was out of his league. Really after the castillo fight if he wins theres no one rearlly left in that division to fight so then what will he do ???????

when cotto moved up to welter he murdered a decent undefeated fighter in quintana. when hatton moved up he robbed a clubfighter! in colazzo

mayweather fights de la hoya, and hattons fightinh a 33 year old FEATHERWEIGHT who is shot.

look at hattons last fight, he was in a stinkfest against a journeyman who was scared to throw and just walks into punches. that bum urangos record
is really 16-3 yet hatton was scared of him.

AND I THINK CLAIMIN TO BE MORE EXCITIN THAN DIEGO CORRALES AFTER HE DIED IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL, ESPECIALLY WHEN U FIGHT SCARED LIKE HATTON DOES!
