    Floyd Clearly Won but didnt Impress

    That really is the summary of the fight. Oscar got a lot closer to floyd than i thought he could which was great. Floyd showed he can be hit. Oscar just didn't have the stamina to keep it going at fast enough tempo. This was supposed to be Floyds coming out party and he disappointed. Most of his punches hit Oscar's gloves, that's why the punchstat numbers were so off.

    Floyd is a great fighter but if he retires now he is dreaming if he thinks he will be considered in the same league as SRL and SRR. Absolutely dreaming.

    If you're going to talk so big, you need to back it up with a big performance. Credit to him for winning the fight, but the win did not match the talk and that doesnt really impress me.

      He never clearly won at all.
      He won a split thats not clearly winning...

      Sorry for me i would of give the nod to Hoya
      He was the champ you have to beat the champ not throw pitty pat shots that dont do no damage..
      **** Hoya pressed the fight or it would of been a seriously **** fight,,

        Yeah, he beats DLH in his 1st fight @154 and he is overrated.

        Floyd cant win either way, he fights de la Hoya instead of margarito, he's ducking.

        He fights De La Hoya he gona get exposed.

        He beats De La Hoya he wasnt impressive.

        Be honest, how many of you think he needs to move up to 200+ and fight Klitschko?

            it's just the fact that he's not winning the way people want him to win...he's a smart fighter...i do hope he stays in the game and fights a couple more...but we'll see...don't see him fighting any more than maybe 2 or 3 fights though

              youre 100% right about the messed up boxstat numbers...last i checked they didnt rate wins on percentage either :/

              pbf did not in any way prove larry merchant wrong...he proved that a prime de la hoya could have beated him relatively solidly and we all know that de la hoya is hardly the best ever....floyd is a big fish in a small pond.

                I thought that Mayweather cleary won the fight with his 'accurate' but limited punches but it wasn't the impressive performance I and many other boxing fans desired. I guess this was expected; Mayweather would just do enough but not any more to win the rounds. He may have stuns DLH once or twice but aside from that he never really hurt Oscar with his punches.

                  I said i wud give PBF credit if he beat DLH convincinly. He didnt do that. But i will give him credit for getting the decision. I only heard the fight on the radio. But the thing is PBF is beat yesterdays great fighters to try establish his own. Why not box Hatton and Mosely who i do rate at this minute. DLH was a great name but he has lost to Mosely twice anyway when DLH was at his best.

                    Floyd won the fight, but as always it was uneventful, boring, and unappealing. Anyone who says that PBF was exciting is a liar and nuthugger.
