If that was true then he should have alerted the Commission that he was taking steroids for his bicep tear BEFORE the fight, instead of saying that afterword when he tested positive.

they're about the same, different walks of life make different styles make different choices but both are pretty much equal to being smart inside the ring.

if i had to choose, i'd say hopkins is smarter based on his discipline inside and outside the ring when it comes to his conditioning.

other than that they're about the same. although i think hopkins exercises his tactics a little better than toney, fighting on the inside and frustrating his opponents. but now i'm just splitting hairs.............

I'd go with Hopkins both inside the ring and out. Anyone who comes into a fight as out of shape as Toney, I have a tough time saying they're a real "smart" fighter. With Hopkins, I think he's smart to the point that it makes him boring to watch. Toney is smart (if we're talking in the ring only), but fights a much more entertaining style.

If you mean training/conditioning is included then i would say Hopkins but if you mean inside the ring, Toney's ring smarts are superior's to Hopkins.
