How about this idea: if MIranda were to beat Taylor and become middleweight champ, De La Hoya would give him a fight and beat him quite easily to become middleweight champ (also an easier fight for Oscar than fighting Winky). I'm not saying I want that to happen.

Even though I was hoping he'd get beat, he impressed me a lot. It's not going to be long before Taylor has to fight a mandatory against Pavlik. I guess that's the price he'll pay for staying at 160. Pavlik will move away from middleweight after leaving these guys in the dust. Same thing will happen with Paul WilliamsOriginally posted by Pantera2000 View PostYea, I'm convinced. Miranda crushes Taylor.
Does Tayler have the balls to give Miranda a shot?Originally posted by Knicksman20 View PostMiranda's power overated??? When's the last time anyone saw Howard Eastman even on the defensive? Miranda not only did that but KO'ed him. Even when Eastman fought Hopkins & was getting countered all night by some hard punches, he was still the aggressor trying to land something big on Hopkins. I also think people are underating Eastman's power as well. Taylor's had an opportunity to fight Eastman & they passed on that; & that was before Miranda fought Eastman. Taylor's boxing career has been guided away from punchers. Who's the hardest puncher he's ever faced? Joppy & Hopkins & neither are punchers. I think Taylor's camp wants to keep it that way too because of the defensive issues he has that might be exposed by a puncher.
i don't see taylor's people ever letting pavlik or miranda sit at ringside at one of taylor's easy fights, let along get in the ring with him. either pavlik or miranda would knock taylor out. pavlik is still a little green for taylor yet, i think he needs one fight against a top 10 middleweight contender first, but this is bseide the point, taylor's people know pavlik would knock jermain the **** out, they'll never let it happen. he'll be fighting featherfisted blown up junior middleweights after he ko's mora

Even Miranda's biggest punch wouldn't harm him, plus he'd just tag him with the jab over and over. It would be a mismatch.

Miranda could try and use his strength....but I think he'd get impaled on the end of Wright's jab. Albeit he's not a blow up welterweight like Tito, a jab completely neutralizes a power attack. Especially when it hits over and over and over, and when the power punch comes....there's no target.
It's basic and I don't want to sound ridiculous by stating the obvious sorry. The difference being Taylor isn't a good inside fighter. He's like the Middleweight version of John Ruiz. He'll either freeze up or clinch the opponent....because he's nowhere near his punching range.
Wright uses lateral movement and covers up wisely, something that nobody does anymore....and nobody likes to face. The tricky southpaw style that is virtually extinct. Lacking punching power but by far the most technically sound and most difficult style to defend if orthodox.

i dont understand why u guys act like jt hasnt fought anyone, his last couple fights have been against the best, i doubt you jt haters havent even seen some of his fights. JT is way to busy of a fighter and has alot of power, the sound of his punches sound alot harder than miranda's. Gibbs obviously doesnt have a good chin. You think jt doesnt have power because he couldnt knock out bhop or ww, they have never been knocked out. the only way i see miranda winning is jt's eye swelling up like vargas's did against mosley, but im not worried at all, jt is a very skilled natural athlete with punching power, gets in and gets out and does it alot. Keep dreaming that he will lose to miranda.
