Naked hatred as displayed for twelve rounds by a pair of pacifists ... and B-Graders to boot. But the whole card wasn't pisspoor like that. DeGale is now the real deal, Quigg showed good skills and variety against a courageous trier who just kept on coming, and Joshua continues to excite. Callum Smith did the business too. That was a serious step up in class for Smith but he boxed well, beautifully at times, kept composed when at times put under pressure and, bottom line, comfortably defeated a guy who had lost only to Abraham and Bika. Good things ahead for the Scouser. Can't say the same for George Groves imo. He got the job done but laboured in the process. Not the same since Froch dropped the bomb on him.

I don't know what is going on with Groves, Maybe he is struggling to get up for it after a big event like Froch. I know that he speaks highly of Paddy but I'm not too sure if I'm honest. Like what has been said by so many others, His last two fights were laboured at there best

I think the British public got done tonight for 17 quid with that. Cleverly must have been injured going into the fight with the right hand.
Although tbf, the names on the undercard saved the show and was the only reason I paid for it in the first place.

Most people saw the card for what it was 2 domestic fighters in the most unconvincing "grudge" match ive seen for awhile backed by big names in fights they were expected to win.
A disgrace that this was ever a ppv event, eddie hearn sold people short last night

The only reason I bought it was because of the undercard to go with it. Wasn't particularly fussed about the main event but at least expected a good scrap.

i thought the main event would be better and i didn't really expect much to being with. that and the degale fight were the only real fights on the card, the others were just mismatches to put fighters on display. then you get that crap stoppage for degale, i thought the gonzalez stoppage was bad but this was just ridiculous. why in the world wouldn't he give him a count and at least see if he was able to recover? probably afraid he would do just that, referees are clearly jumping in first chance they get to give degale W's. it's both a sham and a shame, as degale could easily do the job on his own.
