That said, the amateur results don't mean that much, compared to the basic attributes they show and I'm impressed with Joshua at this stage.
Without big gloves and head guard he might have knocked them out. Who knows?

At this stage, I'm just excited to see him in the pro ranks, but he's nowhere near as talented as someone like Wlad or Lennox were when they came out of the olympics. Of course, that stands to reason as he'd only just taken up boxing 3½ years earlier. He'll no doubt be a KO artist I think, he has all the physical tools to be something good. But his technique and footwork needs working on, which is why I hope to God that he chooses the right trainer. I really think someone like Booth could improve those things, but a man like McCracken would also be able to get the best out of him.

If I had to predict something for his future, I would honestly put my money on a Frank Bruno type career as opposed to a Lennox Lewis type career. Luckily for him, he's turning pro in an era where most guys aren't super talented, but if he meets a good boxer I would expect him to be outboxed at this stage. Hope that he continues his progress though so he can become a boxer-puncher like Lennox was.

I just don't think a guy like Joshua will be managed correctly over here. You can see them doing a David Price type thing, trying to move him too fast, desperate to make that $$$.

If I was him i'd go to the States and do my apprenteship there, but that's not going to happen now.

Hughie Fury seems a natural opponent down the line, Also Joeseph Parker from New Zealand who I think will be a factor, have you seen him btw?

I think Joshua made the right move with Matchroom. When Price left Hayemaker, it all just became about securing a world title as soon as possible. I don't think Hearn would be as ignorant as Maloney on that front. The work he's done with Kell Brook doesn't suggests so.

If both stay unbeaten it would be an enormous fight. No haven't seen him. Is he worth checking out?

He had a good amateur career, and fought Frans Botha recently in his 4th pro fight, even though Botha is well past it it's a good fight for a novice and the manner of the stoppage impressed me. He's very raw and sloppy but given a couple years development could be one to watch

Don't think Joshua is anything special, looked to have regressed in the Olympics. Chin is questionable, he's bulking too much and still has several basic flaws, hopefully he links up with a credible trainer - staying under McCracken's tutelage would be a good move.

              For **** sakes.

Is everyone except Oliver McCall's chin questionable?

He's been buzzed up slightly off massive shots when he neglected his defence. so has pretty much everyone in boxing

He's been buzzed numerous times, dropped several and that's just in the amateurs...

Is it David Price level (down 19 times)

It's not Price level but nor has Joshua fought as many times. I can't remember names as it's Eastern European/European but they've been posted on here before.

Whyte nearly took his head off, had him down and nearly out in the second round of their bout, had him hurt a few times in the third.

It's the combination of Joshua's 'meh' chin, poor footwork, no head movement and virtually non-existent defence that worry me. He did take some good shots against Cammarelle, so the Price-Joshua comparison there shows that he's nowhere near as fragile.

Physically, Joshua is top notch. That's all that his potential is founded upon and even then, he's becoming too stiff and losing that athleticism.

Taking into account how much he's achieved in such a short time as an amateur, it'd be pretty ignorant to say, he'll do nothing.. Harrison spent far too long as an amateur, which was the crux of his problem, similar with Price, so Anthony's a lot fresher. Take a look at Larry Holmes, who's amateur pedigree was'nt quite as good as Joshua's [think he was 18-3] when he lost to Duane Bobick in the olympic trials.. Way too early to predict a career as illustrious as Holmes had, but i've a nagging su****ion, he'll do ok, better than Tillman, Biggs, Harrison etc.. Maybe he can emulate the likes of Damiani, Hide, Morrison and Vitali, to get a go at the WBO title. Reckon he'd trounce the likes of Manuel Charr and Captain Marco Huck, so a European title seems imminent anyway, then it's quite possible he'll face someone like Fury, or maybe go on to challenge one of the Russians, possibly Povetkin, but whatever happens, if he looks impressive at the O2 in September, he'll be hot property and Eddie Hearn's gonna be working overtime.
