Why did Roy Jones Jr. duck Steve Collins?

Why is Steve Collins ignored? The guy whooped Nigel Benn & Chris Eubank, and was ducked repeatedly by RJJ.
So whats the story?

Its about the $. How much do you believe that they would generate for a Collins/Jones megabout? Not much at all.

Collins beat Benn wen he had nothing left and Benn retired in both fights.
Eubank had sc****d a few victories and wasnt the fighter he once was.
All credit to Collins, but he didnt really make any big waves with those victories.
Jones would have toyed with him.
The big question is why Jones and Calzaghe never fought.

i think roy was always the bigger name, calzone had nothing to offer except his WBO belt - worthless, and i think roy expected joe to come to him

The fight was ON in '99, but then Collins blacked out after sparring with Howard Eastman and called it off.
I don't really know why it didn't happen in '97, but that's why Collins retired in the first place.
Collins was awful, one of the sloppiest punchers you'll see and Jones should of made him look silly and hurt him bad.

In Dublin? Loads. It would never of been as big as the Eubank fights, but it would of generated plenty.
