    If Oscar Never Fought Floyd

If Oscar De La Hoya retired after the Bernard Hopkins fight and never fought Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao how much different would their career and boxing as a whole be ?

    - -Easy question to answer since boxing tends to eat it's own in a traditional sense.

Oscar would've retired going out on his shield vs a bigger, stronger fighter. Nobody important would've given TBE TUE the time of day because of his unreliablity, and Manny would've spent more time at Lwt and Jrwelt before welt.

Do you think the Floyd vs Manny fight ever happens? I think it happens sooner but it doesn't do the 4.6 mil numbers

        - -Manny didn't enter the Floydy sweepstakes until he ducked out on the Oscar rematch promotions, so I doubt they ever cross divisions.

I would argue the real difference is in Floyd. Floyd did not make jack in boxing until he fought oscar.

When you hire a man's father to train you to fight his son, you are pure, unadulterated halfwit.

Ya that's what I'm saying. Can't see how Floyd would've been nearly as big of a star if not for the Oscar fight

You're being extra churlish today. Floyd Sr wasn't Oscar's trainer for the Floyd Jr fight.

                    - -U shush now. Leffy just trying out new, experimental dentures.

                    Daddy say Oscar whooped Floydy.
