    Greb vs Ketchel

Can light hitting, dirty Harry keep hard hitting Stanley off him?

Because of the time Ketchel fought in, I suspect that Greb's style would have overwhelmed him.

Comparing fighters who are pre and post Dempsey (1920) IMO are unrealistic match-ups; the styles between the two periods are quite different and I believe Ketchel would have needed several 'modern era style' fights under his belt before he would be able to understand what was coming at him.

What proof have you that Greb was dirty?

Greb was a known dirty fighter. He would “hold and hit” in every bout as per Dan Daniel.

Greb was a unique talent with unique attributes and style. I don’t think any middleweight was ready for what he brought to the table. Ketchel was not a primitive performer fighting in a primitive era. Being able to box fast at distance, fast footwork was known then as it is today. Greb was also ever attacking, holding and hitting, cuffing, ever punching, side stepping. A true puzzle to fight. One has to go with Greb just based on resume and word of mouth. However Ketchel was a tremendous hitter so he was in possession of the great equalizer if he could put it across.

Not many feather-fisted dirty fighters are great. Greb seems to be an exception.

Greb just seems to be a better fighter no matter what distance or what ketchel brings or doent bring to table
