Floyd sr. and the Hall of Fame

I do not see any reason Floyd senior can make the Hall of Fame. If they had an induction for funniest guy in the game, he would have a great shot.

As things stand, he probably did not train his son enough to get in as a trainer, and he didn't do near enough as a boxer.

Roy Jones senior has next to no chance either, and I believe he trained Roy a lot more than big Floyd trained little Floyd.

Even uncle Roger probably can't get in. He didn't train anyone else significant, did he?

Which brings me to wondering which families have and will have more than one member in the Hall of Fame. The Klitchkos probably will.

The Trinidads probably not. The Chavezes not. The Marquez brothers might have a chance. Rafael, a quality fighter and the less famous of the brothers, had several fights for the ages against Vasquez.

Hmmm, then there is Ali and Laila Ali. They have a better chance than Joe and Marvis.

I know I am forgetting some people. Who are they?

Oh yea, the Spinks brothers have a definite chance. Or are they already there? I do not follow that.

If Gatti got in then Roger should easily make the cut.

Floyd Sr has a chance as a trainer. Oscar De la Hoya raves about him and says he is the best he ever worked with.

Tommy and Mike Gibbons are both in.

Prof. Mike Donovan (pioneer) and his son Arthur (Non Participant) are both in.

Also in the Non Participant group we have:
          Brothers Angelo and Chris Dundee.

Plus two cases of father & son:
          Lou and Dan Duva
          Jimmy Lennon Sr. and Jr.

HOFer Michael Buffer is the grandson of former bantamweight champion Johnny Buff - thought the latter is not in (yet!)

Floyd Sr. and Roger don't belong. The only reason anyone knows their names is because of Floyd Jr. Otherwise they wouldn't even be a blip on the radar.

ex-convicts should be disqualified in the hall of fame.

putting the mayweathers' in the hall of fame is like conferring charles manson as a father of the year award.

floyd never had any other trainers and he's arguably the best technical boxer of all time. i could see either or both getting in as nonparticipants, they were great trainers.

Roger was a damn good fighter too.

I think Roger deserves it if you take everything into account.

I can’t credit Floyd with being one of the best technical boxers of all time when he never truly tested himself against the best at their best.
