Did Evander Holyfield win the second fight with Lennox Lewis?

Everyone seems to be pretty much in agreement that Lennox was robbed in the first fight. But what did you think about the decision in the rematch?

    Was it controversial?

I don't think so. He won 4 rounds at best. If this didn't have the link to the first controversial robbery and it was just a seperate fight people saw, I doubt anybody would still think Holyfield won the rematch.

Lennox won BOTH fights comfortably as far as scoring and what should be scored and that's clean shots landed...control and overall ring generalship. Obviously lennox was robbed of the first fight because of king. The next one was clear if you shut the volume off. To beat the Champion you have to beat the champion....theres a big difference between a close fight and a competitive fight.By the way I worked with Artie mercante so I personally asked him who he thought won he said Lennox, not that it matters but he's RIGHT there seeing every punch when video wasn't as available or accessable as it is now..one should be able to tell who won those fights.....LENNOX.

Some think Evander did, probably because he lasted the distance or gave a "valiant effort", but most agree Lennox won the second fight as well.

Speaking of Holyfield, since his last fight was in late 2011, he won't be eligible for the International Boxing Hall of Fame until next summer. Talk about sticking around too long.

7-5 for Lewis if you're being generous to Holyfield. 8-4 is more like it.

I thought the second one was close giving Holyfield the edge. Of course the first fight was one sided for Lewis.

The second was a very easy fight to score for LL. There is no way you can score it for EH apart from the ol' 'he did better than the first fight so I'll give him extra marks' kind of scoring.

Taken as is, he lost clearly though. I think it's just a case of him doing better than the first fight, thus being the emotional winner if you will, and also him being the fan favourite. People just wanted him to overcome the odds and win, and by doing better, people sort of give him more than he deserved.

Holyfield made a few adjustments from the first fight and did perform better but Lewis still clearly beat him.

Not in my opinion. It was more competitive than the first one but I thought Evander clearly lost. I can't see any justification or case for him winning.
