    Happy New Year troll geek.
I just had a look at Shaver's record. What is shows is that as the acorn got older he started to lose fights. he managed to knock Lyle down in a losing effort and fought quite a bit...no where is there any suggestion that his power was affected by fighting bigger opponents.

Elroy has accomplished somethng remarkable here Scott...

Not only has he failed in trying to use math to evaluate talent...he does not even seem to use any math in his effort to use math to evaluate talent!!!

Its like you saying you hate cilentro and me serving you a cilentro salad and chewing you out (consistant metaphor yaya) because only wimps don't like cilantro...so you take a bite of the salad only to discover my cilentro salad is devoid of cilantro.

    thats just ******ed...

As if Williams was some kind of decent opponent!

Mike fought many opponents much better than Williams and completely smashed every single one of them.

Williams was a featherfist by the standards of Mike's day, an utterly atrocious boxer who at 210lbs was laughingly referred to stylistically as a "puncher", in other words devoid of any real skill, slow as a wet wig and most importantly- he fought and beat almost EXCLUSIVELY absolute bums, and of course cruisers.

How can you even use this guy as some sort of bench mark for Liston's performance against Mike is unfathomable to any realist.

Sonny Liston never even fought a decent opponent let alone beat one!

His only somewhat decent achievement was fighting a piss weak child like Ali to a draw on the scorecards and then threw in the towel with a sore shoulder! He failed to waste a chinny cruiser like Ali who was already practically wasted by a 185lb bum previously in Cooper. Pathetic!
i am not going to argue with a immature child who does not want to build a intelligent discussion based on points of mutual agreement which there has been Cleveland Williams was a huge hard hitting heavyweight prior to being wounded by a gunshot. sonny Liston was a solid 6 footer 215 lb fighter with a great chin and a ramrod jab. To call the great Muhammad Ali a cruiser is absurd he was a champion from 64 thru 77 beating many of the atg s .

mike Tyson from 86 to 89 was excellent but beatable outside that span

      go home lurker

No one has really addressed what makes a hard/powerful punch.....that is speed/accuracy/technique and even timing will contribute to the impact, add in power which Tyson naturally had you have an elite puncher on another level....ALL these things are what Tyson had....Hes clearly a top 3 hardest puncher in Hw history. When you add up the guys he fought and caliber he has some really good ones and he also has the most important one which is Holmes.....who was Never k.od ONCE ,only to Tyson and he fought a decade more after that fight.Holmes at 52 even took punches from butterbean...ppl could laugh all they want Bean could crack and not to be unable to k.o a 52 year old shows how tough Holmes chin was....prime holyfeild.Mercer and McCall couldn't do it either and Holmes was 42/43 years old.
