    Anecdotal information

There are posters here who are great. There are real jackwads also....For the sake of clarity could we, as a group, establish another understanding? its kind of like when posters like Elroy had to be taught that evolution as a normative concept takes more than a generation....because ignorance makes everybody look bad and with that in mind without singling any one out on this particular issue:

When a poster says " I have trained so and so", or "i have been fignting for so many years" or tells a story about a fighter, this information is anecdotal. One should be able to draw a general understanding from the post about whether one chooses to believe, or not, the information. That is your choice as a poster...and it may be you disagree with the person, or think them a numbskull, but nobody not being hired should have to document their experiences because of some idiot.

There are a few idiot that have done that here....Some are young and can probably learn not to sound like idiots, others are just idiots who should know better. but at the end of the day everyone should be comfortable sharing their story!

Now I do want to single a person out. Ray Corso you claim you worked with a young Mike Tyson....yet when I asked you whether he prefers boxers, or briefs, and when I asked you what type of mustard he likes with his corn beef you didn't know the answer to either of these questions....one can only wonder!

Very good comments. I've had several clashes with Corso, but I never questioned the validity of his stories. It take just one or two lemons to create a ****ty atmosphere here.

Please ban Funnyboy as he has no other purpose than to troll and provoke other posters here

Well it is obvious this is directed at myself. it is like asking Jack `Doc` Kearns a Trivia Question... Jack, what nickname did Dempsey call himself in his early fighting years?.... Kearns replies, " i don't know"

It is beyond comprehension Kearns not knowing.

Kearns, like 80% of the posters on this website would reply: Kid Blackie.

Why start **** like you did? Like I used to ask Jughead: what purpose does it serve? Where does it get you at the end of the day?

You, unlike many of the trolls that come here have great stuff to share, so why post a hit piece like you did? It doesn't feel so good when your called on it... Does it?

And its different than questioning a material fact. I used to fight full contact in one of the most respected clubs with a Hanshi who is one of best by those in the know (Riley Hawkins line)... Is that a fact? Its just a information I may share under certain circumstances...not many because I am not a bad azz. So now someone comes along and asks me who the third person Riley gave a Black Belt to in the Avengers....and they have exposed me as a lyer? cause I don't know? does that sound right to you? Think about it.

I hate this **** because I saw a great site with a consortium of decent highly skilled martial artists go in the crapper you know why Sonny? Because a few snotty nosed kids who want their hands held and their hair stroked because they got a blue belt in Gracie Jiu Jitsu....suddenly they are experts and speak to people who have been doing grappling for longer than their moms have been alive! So gradually the real substantive posters leave... And the site goes down the crapper. So I am real sensative to when posters with actual experience are given that kind of treatment....Don't get me wrong if you want to argue with anyone an opinion and they bring up their experience you have the right to call them on that.

There is a difference. I hope you see it.

I miss on this forum when guys like irondan, greeh, etc were always posting... I still enjoy all the other posters, but yeah some seem to be overbearing with their views... I don't think everyone should agree all the time but some go out of their way to get confrontational, and I don't know why you would be like that in history section... NSB and the lounge and thunderdome are the sections to be wild in, history is suppose to be a tame section

Good points. But if someone is making a claim, shouldn't they be prepared to back it up with evidence when called upon for it? Not agreeing with what happened but if you claim something you should be able to prove it. When you write a paper or present a case in court, you need evidence. Shouldn't the rest of us be held to the same standard? For the record, I think Ray IS a credible source of boxing knowledge, both on fighters and techniques.

That would depend on the claim. If I say I am a professional fighter with a record, yes, this should be verified. Even if I say a specific skill has been attained, I should have a rank cert. Different claims ALWAYS have different standard of proof for various reasons...If you were in my house one night and my great aunt mabel was found strangled, but there is no direct proof that you did it, despite you always saying " that Mabel I would like to choke the life out of her" well....Your found not guilty for a homicide but can be sued in civil court for money, because a murder charge and civil charge have two standrds of evidence.

When we talk about our experience in a general way and tell stories about things we have done, this should not require proof, it is conversational.
