pacman cotto year. He actually may have a better chance now at beating mayweather. Ive had a feeling mayweather has a similar approach to ray leonard on picking his time to fight a fighter but if he has, I think its worked against him. As it looks to me that mayweathers age is effecting his effectiveness in the ring more than pacquio. Manny still has speed, power and pressure and mayweathers punching less, punchers are weaker, hes getting hit more and cant run as long, which is made even worse by his lack of offence. Add his wobbly dance he did against maidana gives manny a BIG chance

His rhythm seems a bit easier to read and I think that is to Mayweather's advantage.

Maybe but over 12 rounds it will be harder for mayweather. Mannys always had heart and I think will deal better with frustration than other fighters. Floyd can't just use smarts for this fight and mannys work rate is still good and throws a lot more than mayweather and I'd say mannys faster at this stage and floyd can't KO manny

not saying I'd want to do it but if you changed the result of rumble in the jungle to foreman KO s Ali. Not only would ali no longer be considered the greatest but foreman would in most people eyes be considered the GOAT, especially with the comeback taken into account.

Also there are other issue to consider if Foreman does beat Ali. The question of his stamina problems would still be figured out by somebody eventually and I believe Young and a young Holmes would beat him later on, so I don't think we'd even have the famous comeback either.

I think that bout would of helped Liston out if it ever went ahead. Johnson I believe would of gave Liston more rounds than Patterson did.
Going on Liston winning, he would of rematched Patterson in '63 and perhaps been in better fight condition for when he went in against young Cassius Clay.
They were also possibly going to fight in 1956.
I think ultimately Liston would have knocked out Johnson, but Johnson would efinitely have posed some problems if he could avoid taking punches.
Apparently they had some sparring sessions in the 50's and Johnson did well in those sessions.
Johnson is a very underrated Heavyweight. Obviously he's a LHW and small at HW but he racked up some very good wins at HW.

After looking, my opinion hasn't changed on his best win being Charles in '53.

Went and looked at his record and you're right. I didn't know he had win over Valdes in '52.

Yeah Valdez was a very good win, he beat Eddie Machen aswell. He has a very solid HW resume despite being about 180 or so lbs when he fought there.

I try not to judge a mans character outside the ring along with his career inside the ring. I never liked Larry Holmes disrespecting Marciano, I realize he was goated into this by sports reporters but Larry had been around a while by then and he knew better than to give them that big a piece.
Spinks to me didn't win either fight although Larry didn't perform well against a very tactful Spinks I do believe you must "take" a belt not just "lift it" and sneak away.
The older regime was still in power and Larry simply didn't have that Ali personality to be sharp and meaningless at the same time. They took Holmes
"0" away, TWICE!!! hahahaha!!! It was a shame that he got caught up in that but it was his lack of tact that hung him. He would have beaten Marciano's record.
Ray.
ps; by the way this Mayweather undefeated run at 49-0 is pretty ****** because the Marciano 49-0 was always about "Heavyweights" beating that mark. Mayweather isn't the sharpest knife in the draw anyways.
