Ok one last post and I will not harp on it anymore poet I took your advice and googled coal consumption and world wide it has doubled since 1980 and we burn more than 20 times the amount of coal as we did in 1900 just thought I would throw that in there we have many alternative sources of energy but we need much much more energy now than then

Dude no, stick to NSB. If Tyson was any taller he would lose his quickness and evasiveness, one of Tyson's greatest strengths was his height. Cus made him carry heavy bags to stop him from growing taller.
Tyson was physically perfect, he only fell short mentally.
You couldn't be more wrong!
First, it can be shown easily with stats (I'll direct you if you like) that Tyson struggled more and more with his opponents the taller they got. In fact Tyson never KO'd a single opponent that wasn't a bum that was taller that 6'4".
Today the heights of the opponents are on average taller and much higher in the top end circumstances as well.
So we can see how a little extra height could help to match his opponents he would face today.
As for the extra 15lbs of weight which would serve to fill out that little extra height nicely, you say it would slow him down too much to be effective with his style and other assets... But you completely neglected to mention the fact that THE BIGGER OPPONENTS HE WOULD FACE TODAY ARE ALSO ON AVERAGE SLOWER than their smaller counterparts of yesteryear.
On average the fighters of today are faster than yesterday weight being equal but obviously speed declines with size in general.
I think a heftier Tyson would be just as adequate to compete with todays competition given his other prime qualities as he was against those of his time. Dangerously competitive that is!

Another "POET exposed" moment where he tries to discredit a proven statistic.
Most everybody in this "back water country" I live in knows that steroid and growth hormone are used in livestock which comes to us via milk and meat and has definitely had an effect on us, most strikingly noticed in young girls growing **** at younger and younger ages and getting their rags.
Your living in the 17th century POET!

I have been involved in a conversation on another forum in the past where we discussed this and it turned out participation has gone up and down several times throughout the last century but it was clear that globally boxing has never had higher participation and I think it was rivalled in the US only around the great depression era from memory.
The whole list of years and numbers were laid out.
I googled boxing participation and there are loads of streams to look at. Find them yourself.
